    Funny you mention this.

Real "medieval" great swords typically weighed less than 8 lbs, many of them far lighter.

Double-bladed "battleaxes" like most of the WAR weapons, though? They typically weighed at least as much, but were generally terribly balanced or less effective than other, similar weaponry, and were thus not used for warfare. Consider this: what practical use is two symmetrical blades on an axe over a single blade? None. In fact, dual-faced axes tended to have an axe head on one side, and another weapon head on the other, such as a hammer or spike (or both). Due to its ineffectiveness, the historical double-bladed "battleaxe" was actually symbolic or ceremonial. Their use in combat is very much fantasy.

As is this game. So, if WARs really were to swing around gigantic, double-bladed axes, then they would, indeed, need to be much heavier than great swords merely due to the size difference. Even if they were weighted similarly, wielding a double-bladed battleaxe would result in heavier swings due to the weapon being extremely top heavy. Their single-bladed axes, however, could be even lighter than most of the great swords available in the game.

But...that's enough of a history lesson. Just thought I'd share some interesting facts.
