No flashy moves kills paladin tanking. They are the flashiest tank around.
I don't understand where you're coming from, frankly. Penalize stance dancing, and watch how badly you hurt for tanks then. Already the least played class, let's just make them extinct. I for one, as a WAR main, would quit tanking.
it started as a means to que faster, then I learned how to deeps. Never went back.

This. The community can't moan and groan about having long queue times because tanks never want to queue into the DF while simultaneously trying to take away some of the things that can actually make tanking fun. I like asking my FC members for my DPS numbers after we finish a run together. I don't ever lord it over anyone who I may have beaten, it's just fun to try to improve yourself.I don't understand where you're coming from, frankly. No one sits around after a dungeon, patting themselves on the back cause everyone else's aggro bar was so miniscule compared to their own. That's boring... I can hold hate, I know I can hold hate, and I can pop my cool downs when I need to. If we nerf tank DPS then apparently I've already reached the very pinnacle of performing my job or at least the pinnacle in any measurable metrics.
If we nerf tank DPS to high hell, then what does that leave me to strive towards? How do I ever improve myself? If I can't improve myself on my tank job because the only statistic that I can actually improve upon has been nerfed, then why in the world am I ever going to queue as tank unless I need the fast queue time? I'd much rather join the DPS ranks and enjoy more intriguing game play than hit the exact same buttons in the exact same order ad nauseum for 20-30 minutes.

Thankfully, I imagine the developers see this issue the same way, given Yoshi's relatively recent comments on healer DPS in progression. They seem to be fine with their being avenues for players to push the envelope, as it were. Changes surrounding tank DPS, if there are ever to be any, will probably be more related to making sure that pushing tank DPS is a little more intuitive within the game's systems (since only Fending accessories are Need-class for tanks, and so on). Personally I think tank DPS should work a bit more like healer DPS, where the primary stat factors into things (at least in some way--tanks obviously wouldn't use a full VIT to STR swap). I've always felt it strange that the off-tank role in several fights gets no use out of the role's assigned accessories and would be in favor of some changes so that doesn't feel so weird.
Good. Maybe that means we'll have people who like playing tanks playing tanks, instead of dps pretending to be one.I don't understand where you're coming from, frankly. If tanks playing tanks means hiding behind a giant health pool and contributing nearly nothing to a fight besides putting your face in front of the bosses fist until it dies..
Well, now we know why tanks are like unicorns in MMOs, don't we?

Sorry, but people who play tanks don't generally do it for the big penis damage. >.>;
This said, you're confusing us for support archetypes. AKA the role that is truly inconsequential when not being purposely designed to be overpowered.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
