    Final fantasy histories, not actual histories. Otherwise we'd have spear wielding everything. Paladins would probably be wielding maces or axes. Monks would probably not be wielding whatever those knuckles they have are....

    Japanese and American popular media identifies the Samurai with his Daisho. Samurai will wield some sort of Katana. Final fantasy Samurai have always wielded 2 handed katana, just as ninjas have always had the dual wield trait.

    I was responding to your comment about classical Samurai use 1 sword in 2 hands, I know this is a game and such real life facts are in fact secondary considerations.
    There's nothing against samurai dual wielding in popular media, in fact it is a quite popular concept that's sometimes taken to a rather extreme level.
    As for Final Fantasy jobs and their weapon choices, so long as they use Daisho, it would not be a crazy unorthodox change to the job whether they use 1 sword in 2 hands and a sword in each hand. Hell, I think Yunona's idea is pretty good and makes them rather unique.
