Does Grit ninja lower Skill Speed?

I'm not talking about Blood Weapon by the way. I did this without it.

I have currently 662 skill speed. I noticed that if I take off Grit, I swing my weapon and my GCDs are faster. However when I turn it back on it goes back to seemingly normal speed.

Its like Skill Speed is lowered or turned off when you go into tanking stance.

    From the tooltip:
Reduces damage received by 20%, while lowering damage dealt by 20% and increasing enmity.
Also increases chance to hit by 5%. Effect ends upon reuse.
Nothing is mentioned about lowering skill speed.

No, it doesn't, and you can easily test this on a dummy or something. You probably got hit with an Arrow or Fey Wind buff in combat if you noticed a difference, which was just coincidental.

were you using spells in grit like, say, unleash? Cause it's a spell and thus is not effected by skill speed and with no spell speed it would be slower.

    Grit doesn't affect the GCD

This might be the case (unless you were testing on a dummy with exactly the same purely-physical-move rotation). Unleash, Unmend, Abyssal Drain all will have the 2.5 gcd and are used almost exclusively in Grit, so a typical session of grit tanking in a 4man would definitely feel slower than a single target DPS rotation.

You missed the implication: the answer to OP's question is "no".
