Dark Knight *Darkside* "Stance"

When we go into Darkside, can we please turn our sword like this when we fight?



Even with all of our current animations this stance looks better. We even go to our normal stance a bit but it looks more proper because you really do not stay in a guard stance for very long.

I brought this up in another drk thread about how Regula actually uses a different two handed sword stance that drk does not get. My immediate thought was: why can't we use this one instead? That stance (which is quite obviously the Cloud stance) looks much better for the style of weapon that the drk carries. I really want this stance more than the one we have right now.

My guess is they didn't want DRKs to feel like that much of a Cloud reskin.

I like the Auron stance better, the male idle stance DRKs have (I think all male races use the same idle stance). Now that I'm thinking about it, I'd like to see different animations for the different stances, like when in Darkside (offense) stance, you hold your sword like Auron. When you are in Grit stance, you hold it like normal (guarding), maybe the Regula stance could be for when you have Grit AND Darkside active.

PLD can hold their shields up to their faces like they are huddling behind it in Shield oath and Sword Oath looks like what PLDs have now.

WAR can hold their axes like Sora from KH when in DPS stance, and for their defense stance it remains unchanged.

For those who didn't see it (I think it was posted on reddit) the current DRK sword stance is actually a well known German Medieval combat stance for use with a two handed sword, called "Ox".

Lindybeige on youtube talks about battle stances in this vid:

and the first one he uses to illustrate is Ox, and why it can be used as an effective defensive stance.

Not that I dont think the stance could look better, but seeing it here explained as a viable historic stance used with the weapon, with a defensive mindset, made me appreciate it more ingame.

Yes, except you don't STAY in that stance for long. You go into it then immediately leave it to parry an attack. You don't "SIT" in it.

Regula Van Hydrus USES THE STANCE properly. At the end of an attack he uses it, parrys your attack then counter attacks.

He goes into it after using an attack, then goes to holding the stance like you see.

YOU DO NOT STAY IN THE STANCE FOR LONG! =D

He explains: If you just stayed in the stance it would be bad for you.

It isn't a stance you just sit in like you do in game.

I love to see this. watching my Character go into a different stance.. over a glow.. would be so much nicer, not to mention easier on the eyes. like Regula does during that fight.
Wonder if SE could just adjust DRK to act in that manner?
