    The reference to Gordias may also be a carryover from Alexander in FFXI. In FFXI, Gordias was the primary star in the Alexander constellation, and "The Gordias" was an artifact kept in the city of Aht Urhgan, removed from Alzadaal, the undersea ruins known to be the lifeless former body used by the Avatar Alexander.

    Of course, the reasons for associating Gordias with Alexander in that game could be explained by many of the answers already in this thread.
