    Chemist Class (Like Tactics)

    I don't know where to put this, but I wanted it to be posted. In case I can get a billion people to like it and then Square HAS to make it a reality.
    But I desperately want a Chemist healing class.
    It could would like the ninja, where different combinations has results.
    Like this heal, then this heal, creates this effect.
    Or this heal, then this other heal, creates this new effect.
    Etc.

    My heart would belong to this class. And I think it would be very unique and fun. And the gear aesthetic would be cool as heck!

    In an interview they actually said this was one of the healers they considered adding. So... I think it's possible we could see it in a future expac. Now how the mechanics will work, who knows.

    I've always thought of this too. A healer combining different ingredients/skills during battle to have alternate healing effects and then classic chemist style, throwing a bottle at the teammate and having it shatter glorious healing liquid onto them.

    I don't want to ruin anyone's fun, but I guess this will need much more thought:

    Devs said they were working on trying to fix mudra's lag problem. Until then, it's hard to see your idea working, but once it's done, it could be awesome! Especially with every combination generating a different buff. (ASTs would die of envy)

    Mixing real mats in battle can also be a problem. Devs said they would never make Ninjas have Throw because they would need to carry good weapons/gear only to throw away. They even told about the possibility of people in raids making Ninjas throw allagan gear(Now prototype) only to keep high DPS... It would be unfair. Can you imagine people yelling at each other because you've got out of High Elixirs? I can. That's the reason I think Samurai won't have coin toss either, but let's see... They could give it a 'mixing potions' animation, who knows...

    As I said, it may require a lot of thinking from the Dev team, but it's not impossible. I really liked the idea and if the next expac brings one more healer, that's one of the jobs I'd like to see implemented. ^.^

    Love the idea. For some reason I'm picturing the girl in Big Hero 6 loading cartridges in and firing them out of some sort of gun to make different combo's. Though I agree if it has a similar 'enter combo + activate' like Ninja, they'd need to solve that lag issue. Its bad enough on a dps. As a healer it could be catastrophic but we have a while before a new healer crops up so skies the limit. It has a lot of potential for some neat effects and moves. Maybe a combo that is a ground targeted plume of gas/smoke that tags anyone who passes through it with a regen effect? Or maybe they can mix concoctions and place them on the ground. Lets say, maybe they can have two up at any given time. First player who runs over it, activates it and gets a heal etc? Definitely one I'd like to see fleshed out as well.

    Honestly, the mudra lag problem would be "less" problimatic on a healer than a dps. Dps is about maintaining numbers, and any lag in the rotation effectively lowers your numbers. Healing is about keeping people alive. It would be no different than the benediction lag WHM's deal with. And they deal with it.

    We already have a chemist but as a DoH rather than a DoW/DoM. I have no idea how will they implement this. If they're being gated by items, this will even be a bigger issue since you can't make potions mid fight... Unless Move-Find-Item will be part of its trait. It would even be more interesting if they were a DoW instead of a DoM.

    I made an idea similar to this. Basically, the system worked like a combination of Aetherflow and the Mudra system. They have 3 "skills" Vitamins, Minerals, and Toxins, similar to the Mudras, a Mix skill similar to Ninjutsu, and a Replenish skill like Aetherflow. The basic concept was you have these 3 skills given at different levels and by mixing 2 or more you create an effect. The more Vitamins activate a heal, the more minerals activate a buff, and the more toxins activate a debuff. There was also an additional skill gained at a later level called Compound that turned the mixture into an attack. Basically each ingrediant would hold 30 at a time and when you start to get low you wouod replenish your supply. I never made a mixture list, but you can look at my job mockup by following the link below. Though I may need to adjust a few things I think a few things might be worded wrong, not so wrong, but odd wrong. Also it was made befoe the expansion so yeah... lol.

    Chemist would be cool as a channeling type healer, for example their basic heal would start at 150ish potency but have reduced casting time and for each second you cast the potency will increase by a cetain amount up to a maximum of 450 (just an idea) with the freedom to cancel the skill at any time but get the penalty in potency based on how long you channeled , like mixing potions of sorts , you know mixing longer becoming more potent. Or maybe something like delayed heals, you put a heal on someone with no effect initially and when a certain DMG threshold is met the heal will take effect healing that person instantly, and for healer cooldowns something like "Mad Chemist", it puts them into a frenzy and makes their heals chain to nearby targets for a lesser effect based on how many targets it chained like 100% - 45% -22% , mimicking a mad scientist trowing vials arround , hell they can even make it so some of their potions are actually buffs to the party.

    My toughts for Chemist are the same as yours, but I'd like the class to be a MP/TP hybrid class, who can Mix concoctions to buff the party. Healing-wise, it would have rapid cast heals with lower potency, with OCD abilities for added effects. I took my time creating a Skill/Trait set but I'm at work, and I don't remember much of it.
