I think we need a world chat so people don't have to stand in Uldah to get parties. And/or, institute the party search feature from FFXI. If partying is the way to go, let's facilitate it. And I think that is the plan, just need to wait a bit.

To be fair, I sympathize with the OP's point to a degree, especially since Yoshi-P had made it clear he wanted players to have multiple ways to play.
But you can STILL viably solo through the game, albeit at a slower place and to be fair, partying should ALWAYS be the fastest/best way to level in an MMO, especially an MMO in a series with a high focus on partying in its single-player entries.
Like others have said, if patch 1.18 was game-changing, this patch rewrote the goddamn laws of physics. Things are SO different even the known bugs are nuts. You've gotta go out there and explore to find out what mobs will give you the best gains based on what you want. There's no fast track to anything now.
It's a brand new world.
I can deal with slow. What I can't deal with is linking mobs who absolutely inhibit my ability to continue as I was. In some respects, it's as if solo play was almost nixed in favor of this system. To be fair, I sympathize with the OP's point to a degree, especially since Yoshi-P had made it clear he wanted players to have multiple ways to play.

I am so glad I found a kindred spirit that argues the point that even in the solo FF games you were still playing in partys... man how many times I had the solo arguement with people on that... "well I played the single player game by myself" "but you were fighting with 3-4 people in a party" "ya so I was still playing by myself it shouldn't matter if all previous FF's were party based"To be fair, I sympathize with the OP's point to a degree, especially since Yoshi-P had made it clear he wanted players to have multiple ways to play.

This. However, until party forming is functional and efficient they should HAVE NOT gimped solo play. Not all of us sleep on the PC. Some of us, believe it or not, have a life and would like to hop on the game play for an hour or two not shout for PT for that time.
