I agree it has to have solo content, it should be fun too, challenging and rewarding to some extent. But it should never compare to group play in terms of leveling up, rewards or challenge.

On the contrary, I find the new patch quite fun, and more challenging. It also feels like Final Fantasy. Using the correct skills, I can dish out all kinds of damage. If I screw up, the mobs can still kill me.

The fact that I can no longer destroy mobs 10 levels higher than me makes it so that I have to be more cautious getting around.
Changes to claim systems and linking mean I need to be on guard more often in dense mob zones.

Just in case you missed it.~

Come October 5th, I can no longer solo for anything near worthwhile EXP, and I feel it directly related to the linking system.
Before Oct. 4th, I really felt I had the option of doing things my way, solo, without the help of anyone else if necessary. Given, this was a more gradual approach in progression opposed to grouping up, still, I could solo efficiently for acceptable losses. Always before leaving Ul'dah I would attempt to form a group to grind with. I would put up recruit, shout for 30min or so, ask every one of my five linkshells, send tells to every person online in my friend's list of 140 people. Fifty percent of the time I could get people to go out. The remainder was all solo.

Then try the few hundred goats/dodos between horizon and nophica wells, I've havent seen them ever link and you can make laps aroud a few key landmarks. The patch hasn't been out very long, I doubt you've looked everywhere. I know I havent, and I've made more laps of Eorzea in the last 24 hours than I had in the last 3 months.

Hah, you know, in fact Horizon area was the first place I inspected on my Lv25 Archer after patching. /shrug
