It hits for half your health and no time to react at least on the EU datacenter.
Even when you move out of it from the very edge it hits you.

That is a latency issue. For NA it is almost impossible to hit caster LB unless you bind, sleep, or stun people in it. Throwing it out in the middle of a crowd without any CC results in no one being hit.
Newer players to MMO games will likely draw from their experiences playing FPS games, GTA, Dragon Age, Skyrim, etc.. and they will evaluate a MMO based on that criteria. But other online games (and offline RPGs) are designed to be picked up, played for maybe 5 months and then abandoned for when the next big game comes along. A Veteran MMO gamer knows that the experience of the game is stretched out over years, and if crafted properly, it leaves players with some of the best gaming experiences to be found anywhere. This is the problem most content is solo and you get your group action from a cross-server queueing tool. This is not like older MMOs where servers developed real communities. It's more like MacDonald's Drive-Thru, where you queue up, do your run, then never meet those people again.
Im from Moogle and you should be unlucky. Casting the caster limit break at pvp needs arround 4 seconds, the circle radius is pretty low so u have plenty of time to get out of it easily, u don't even need to fast react. We are in the same datacenter and people are always dodging my limit break until i bind them.
That's not even true. I've had times where the caster LB starts, I immediately walk out of it and even though I'm clearly standing out of it after the cast ends I still get hit. PvP latency is terrible even with low ping.
As someone who lives in the UK but plays on primal, yes it is true and yes you are lagging even if you think you arnt
Maybe if you're in Montreal (or at least on the east coast), but here in California I can be halfway across the map from the Cometeor cast zone and still get hit.
I've seen the same thing, and I'm not far enough from the epi-centre of our server base for latency to be an issue. I don't think server proximity is the only problem. Any number of things can cause a dip in latency and seemingly unfair streams of cometeor hits. Could be personal bandwidth usage. Could be an issue with your wifi routers... or it could be server stability being thrown out of whack by having 72 people crammed into an area no bigger than a football field, creating a visual light show that would put the Symphony of Fire to shame. There's no real way to fix this, though. You just gotta put your money where your internet is and keep your personal signal as strong as you can.
Not sure where the Aether DC is located, but I live in New Jersey and the only way to avoid getting nailed by Cometeor for me is to be on the edge of the AoE circle by the time it pops up and react immediately. Basically if I'm not already moving its a guaranteed hit.
I play in eu servers with 130 - 140 ms and still have time 2 run out run from the caster lb most of time if i m not cced unlike melee lb that hit like 99% of the time.
