Hey guys,

Lately (Since before this most recent patch AND continuing into this one) I've been having issues where I'll activate Ley Lines or Enochian, and the buff is simply -not- applied. The ability goes into cooldown, but the buff does not apply to my character. This has been getting increasingly noticeable since going into Alex, but I wanted to see if anyone else has been dealing with this issue or if there's any tips for ensuring there are no hiccups with your buffs (specifically with the speed contingency of a DPS caster class).

This sounds like a latency issue to me. Sometimes the same will happen with me when using one of my cool downs. I've noticed it's happened when trying to cast Leylines, Sharpcast, and Enochian at different times (but not often). And, sometimes, because of slight latency my Tranpose will be used and the timing becomes weird and sits me BACK into Astral Fire with no MP..so that sucks.

Either way, only suggestion I can give when it comes to that is before button mashing to get your combos and rotation out, just hard press it and make sure it activates before clicking the next ability.

Just to note, the ability itself doesn't go on CD, it's just the UI glitches and refuses to let the ability be used because the UI thinks it's on CD. Try using a macro like "/ac Enochian" if that happens. Sometimes that "fixes" it and the button on the UI will refresh the CD. I could be wrong though since I haven't encountered that issue for a long time now.

It's a result of programming to nerf Flare around 2.1. Early on in 2.x you could time flare in UI to give you a tick on MP after the cast landed, allowing you to cast another flare in AF3. This allowed you to cast a full flare and a half potency flare every 12 seconds. They nerfed AF/UI swapping to take a second or so before they actually land.

You forgot to mention that they then made black mages need to cast spells that they are incapable of casting until after the proper AF/UI buff gets applied. Oh and if you use transpose too quickly after flare you go AF3->UI->AF3 and no mana and you don't regenerate any for 10 seconds. Oh, and flare was still too strong so they nerfed it again later.

Ohhh yes, I am remembering now how often I encountered that with Flare>Transpose as well.

I just hate what I'm really on a roll in Alex or Extreme roulette and I look like an idiot for staying in 50 rotation, hahah.
