Are you saying you want better loot for none of the work?
I can't understand what you're trying to say.

Not sure where this stigma comes from that apparently you need to dedicate your life to raiding in order to succeed and make it a second job. You can progress through savage at a slower pace, and it actually feels like you're playing a video game, not just participating in an interactive cutscene.
You say you don't have a lot of time, but how much is that to you? You could raid like 4 hours a week and be ok, progressing. I'm not saying you -have- to, by all means play the game how you want. I'm just not sure why casual players spit on the harder content, thinking they have to quit their job and put their kids up for adoption in order to complete it.
My impression of Alexander NM gear this time around is that we were fresh 60's when it was released, because of this we needed every possible bit of gear to be able to be able to contend with Savage. Next time around we will be coming in with BiS from Savage and I imagine the next tier of Alexander will carry on much like Coil with the last raids gear being the requirement for the new one.
I would quite like to have the requirement of clearing Alexander NM to be able to access Savage removed though, that way I don't have to play through Normal Mode to access Savage and the mechanics and story are new to me as I work my way through progression. I don't think delaying the release of Alexander NM is the way to fix problem, but more that clearing Alexander NM as a requirement to enter Savage should be removed, casual players have just as much right to see the story as we do and the decision as to wether we spoil the story and mechanics should be left to each individual.
You should be able to clear all for via duty finder in one evening, normal mode isn't very hard. Please note that much like Coil, Alexander is only setting the foundation of the story in the current raid, I imagine there will be more to it in the next tier.

For the next set of things we recieve, it should be done as such:
Esoterics uncapped means your cap is set to i210 for gear you can get upgraded.
Alexander Story Round 2 should be set to 210, matched to the unlimtied gear, and not have a cap - let us farm it for sidegrades! don't make it 220 because then it feels -requires- for raiders to do it.
Next tomestone at i220, with upgrades to i230 via upgrades.
What I hate at the moment is that I am required to farm Alexander Story to gear my jobs for Savage. Right now i've almost got 3 seperate class-types to 60 - Mage, Melee, and Tank. I've geared Tank so far in full Story, Melee in full Story, but my Mage is gonna take another 4 weeks to get ready to be raid-ready because of all these lockouts.
I really don't think there was any reason - other than artifically making the turns take longer - that they gated us behind Alexander Story.
I really appreciate the feedback everyone who replied to me. I could raid about 4 to 6 hours a week, but finding a static that does that little and is any good (and doesn't have any BS going on) is another hard part. I come from 7.5 years of WoW, a good portion of which were spent hardcore raiding. Once my main guild in that game broke up and lost most of its members I quit playing and drifted a bit before coming here. I have to say I am having so much fun in FF14.
SE's first mistake was gating story behind Coil. Of course it was gonna spiral out of control with nerfs. As it is, Savage still gives the highest iLv currently and is still needed to upgrade Eso gear (atm). You're only forced to do Normal once for Savage unlock so again I see no issue. Casuals got their Normal and Hardcore got their Savage. What you also seem to be missing is the fact we are still on 3.0x, of course there isn't gonna be a lot of ways to gear up.It was not like this for 2.xx so I'm not sure I follow, or you're confused.
Also, it's not so much an 'issue' as it is 'something I personally would like to see change'. I'm not sitting hear furiously typing about how I'm going to un-sub to the game if I don't get it my way.
Uh no normal mode should not be weekly lock out at this point that's all. Also we don't have raids we have short 8 manned dungeons and face roll 3 full party raids. At lest make the hard raids for a 2 party alliance.
The issue is that Alexander Story Mode drops i190 gear, which SE then balanced the Savage game around.SE's first mistake was gating story behind Coil. By doing this, they made Stoyr Mode required for Savage Progression in the early weeks. It also puts anyone at a disadvantage who wants to enter into Savage raiding now if they just recently hit 60 or started hitting Alexander story.
If Alexander Story wasn't capped content, it might be more bareable - but to be honest, they should either remove loot from Story mode, or make it sidegrade to the currently Uncapped tomestone gear. This way there are options. But it shouldn't be capped.
