in raid should pld use clemency often?

So yeah basically as the title ask, I mean being in a 4 man, 8 man etc. clemency is a pretty decent healing spell for pld's but should it be used in a dungeon? nowadays I see alot of healers trying to be dps. So is it wrong for pld's to heal themselves?

It's not wrong, but you shouldn't go overboard. I typically don't heal myself in a dungeon unless the healer is either struggling or dead. In raid, I only heal myself if my HP is dipping low with a hard-hitting mechanic coming up. A good example is right before the tank buster in A1S. The healers have double Prey to deal with, and the boss cleaves right before the tank buster as well. If my HP are sitting low, I'll throw a Clemency on while it's casting so I don't get interrupted. Even then, probably 50-60% of the time it ends up being overheal; with the amount of damage Savage slings around, I'd honestly rather overheal once or twice than end up dead going "OMG WHER DA HEALZ?!"

But yeah again, don't go overboard. Let the healer do their job. :3

If you're not getting hit there is nothing wrong with it. Moments when you aren't getting hit as a paladin are rare though.

You can help healer if something bad happen (as clemency heal full to target and half to you). The bad thing of clemency: I think you will waste more time to see your cast is interrupted by boss AA than landing it. Actually clemency can be used like you cast SS. Your HP not full before tank buster ? Healer busy ? Try to topup yourself.

Clemency is not that reliable as a full heal and should only be used in tight situations, say the healer is struggling to keep you up or is focusing on other party members, you can pop clemency and heal yourself, I also try to use the skill on a dying healer or try to help top off a dps with the skill, with that said you cannot use it often, you only get 2-3 uses and if you ant to full heal every time you have to spend most of your time riot blade, sheltron and shield bash to keep a healthy supply of mp which will lower your performance big time. Its a very situational ability and I love it.

The only time I could see it being "wrong" is if you were using it in a dungeon between pulls, considering it uses up a considerable amount of MP and Flash is how you hold AoE aggro. But in raids if your TP starts getting low, I don't think popping out a Clemency here or there on the MT/yourself or a DPS who ate an AoE would be a bad thing. Heck, since removing WHM's Stoneskin and Protect traits, (if you really wanted to) you could actually go a bit further and help the healers out by Protecting anyone who happens to die.

    ...

I feel tempted to go level Paladin now and be the best White Paladin Mage ever.

Not really that useful tbh. In actual raid content your healers should have it all covered, only time i can imagine clemency being useful is if there are mistakes made which more often than not lead to wipes anyway. You could possibly have planned uses for it but otherwise I can't see it being that helpful in a raid scenario.

I find the uses to be very limited:

    -Doesn't heal for very much
    -Long cast time
    -Possibility of getting interrupted
-Unable to block or parry during cast

It still has its uses, but in the cases where it would actually be useful, it comes short.

the idea of the skill is for OT purpouses i guess , but making instant cast , less potency/MP cost would have been better
