Changing a Grand Company

I don't think it's a good idea to let players get stuck in a decision forever, with the only way to change that decision being deleting their character and restarting the game.

I worry all the time I may choose one I end up not being happy with.

Only if they wipes record from your previous company as if nothing were ever there.

This too. :3 It has to be fair. Can't go back and forth between them and have all your stuff/points/rank still there.

Hmm.. it's all about items/rewards/loot for some people. I don't care which items they have. I'm worried about not liking the NPCs, cutscenes, story... lol I don't want to pick one and then later find out.. "Wow, I really don't like the leader of this company.. Now I'm stuck here forever... Damn."

I keep hearing about these speeches or something before entering into a Grand Company.. Could someone tell me the names of the quests for these please? Can you watch all 3 before deciding? I'm lacking some info here, and confusing some things. I'm sure it's in the patch notes or something, but I'd rather ask someone who has experienced it, than guess. X3

hmm ya I wish you could change GC at least once (with or without penalty, I don't care =P)
Now that I joined Grids GC (cuz it was my starting city), I wonder if if wasn't better to join Uldahs, because my main class is Pug and nearly all of my LS friends joined this company too =/

I was thinking this exact same thing. But I figured what was the point. I made my decision and now im stuck with it. At least thats what I thought until I read this. If being able to teleport around your own city is something that might be possible. I would really like to switch because all my crafting is in another city than the grand company im located in and I would like to have that option.

This is a follow up post to my last post regarding the use of chocobo whistles within the city.

This post has taken a while for us to prepare because we are also looking into a warp feature within the city-state of your Grand Company as a type of Grand Company reward.

What has made this a bit difficult is the fact that these features have a lot of overlap, so we decided that we will work towards implementing these features with some adjustments.
•Moving around within the city-state of your Grand Company: Introduce a warp feature as a Grand Company reward.
*We will also look into implementation for use in other city-states
However, the warp feature for other cities will be different from that in your own city.
•Allow players the option to ride their chocobo out from the chocobo stable
*This is in response to players wishing to be able to watch the cool chocobo cutscene again
These features are planned to be implemented sometime after patch 1.20, but we will let you know if there are any updates.

Well yoshi said dont choose based on gear they have now... meaning they will prolly update so u can get soemthing for all jobs OR since that gear isnt very god anywasy everything else put into GC loot will be for other stuff and not gear i dont like the fact u can get lvl 50 gear from GC anyways

In FFXI, your allegiance after endgame really didn't matter all that much.

In FFXIV, i don't know how important/large the role of GC's will play out. Since they're changing maps and areas, story and quests, I think it'd be fair to give current player accounts a second opportunity to choose once more. I really really hope they keep this in mind.

I support a 1 time change.

In the long run, dont put it pastr them to allow the changing of country of allegience and grand company

they did it in 11(and not from the start, it got added later) so expect it here eventualy too(just not anytime soon)

Only reason we would need this is if they didnt implement free companies.
