We need real raids that isn't just 1 path of trash then a boss fight and we need to have at lest 2 full party's in said raids.

But yes VargasVermillion I can get behind your suggestion only problem is that the people who would prefer doing the story one will whine till they got their way.

That sounds good until we consider that all the bosses are spoiled by the online guides used by everyone prior to jumping into the instance. People are just doing too much of the same boss fights in a given week for the purpose of getting loot at an optimal pace. People don't consider it a legit run unless you run it four times in a row. That's four times the number of boss encounters required by raid groups for any previous raid content. Without any variance on the bosses or some way to keep people from running it so much, people burn themselves out on it.

Normal mode instead of echo and nerf, but the same time they have done coil with echon and nerf.
So the vast majority that isn't doing Savage has nothing to do? No thanks.

An interest in them both is not the same as NEEDing one for the other.

If we ignoring Alex normal mode, there is still more different content, as we got at the release with Realm Reborn or any patch later.

If story was all that got you excited (not the challenge) then Savage might not be for you. If you need one to get excited for the other, maybe you don't really want the other thing?

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. A good story can definitely be a motivator for raiding especially if you don't already know what is coming next (both in terms of story and mechanics). It is much more interesting when you beat a raid for the first time and go into an all new raid rather than going into a raid you know all but 1-2 mechanics in and has severely increased hps/dps checks.

Our static was having major burnout and we were also having crippling net issues (4/8 members, including myself, had to call our ISPs and get techs out to fix things... all in the same week). We took that week off and did Primal EX farming for ponies, we got almost everyone their Kirin mount now and we had a lot of fun just burning through old content and jumping to our deaths for no reason. We regrouped, feeling much better, and downed A2S that night.

Sometimes you just need to take a break from the content. Gearing up is nice and all, but you are spending a significant amount of your time with these 7 other people. Its nice to just do something fun together without the pressure of having to do things correctly. It helps a lot.

Could it be people are getting burnt out because of taking so much time to raid? I usually get raid burnt after 2, maybe 3 hours of consistent banging my head against something challenging. Proper scheduling will help with that. Self control also helps because if you put too much time into something, you start not to love it anymore.

Not really, since we had almost 6 months where we were waiting for something new and challenging.

Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.
