Why is Housing even desired?

What does it do to help you get better at this game? Does it give you a buff? Does it give you extra exp?

It does absolutely nothing for you. People even buy houses for the sake of it and NEVER get in it.

Just a waste of money and space. Same goes to this ridiculous "eternal bond" business. It does not contribute to anything that help u in this game.

Actually, some of the furnishings do give a CP buff to crafters under level 50. The Chocobo stable allows you to level up your buddy a lot faster (lemme tell you, a rank 20 Chocobo kicks some serious ass). The garden lets you grow rare(ish) crafting components, chocobo food, and chocobo dyes. There's also the airship content; my FC's airships have brought back a veritable fortune in materia and items.

*shrug* There's something to be said for building your own space. I use both my FC house and my personal house many times a day. If other people just want to own it, that's completely up to them.

I use my Eternal Bond ring when I'm grinding FATEs with my partner and have to run back to town, or I die and there's nobody to res me. Poof! Once per 30 minutes, I'm right back on the front line with no fuss.

Maybe for you it doesn't, but many will disagree. For many of the reasons stated on page 2. It can help you get better at the game. Some see it as an extension of the game. Something else to do when you get down on farming or running around. Its just something else to do and hopefully they add more so that others can reap the benefits of home ownership. The main reason I bought one was for the garden, made a ton of money growing the rare plants and in turn was able to buy better gear,thus making me better at the game. Also for the choco stable, makes leveling the choco alot faster, not to mention able to change the choco color. While does nothing other than a different color, we like customization. But you are right on one thing, to each his own.

Does anyone know how you get the Schematic for the small merchant wall? On the schematic board I only see armor shop prototype, mog house, restaurant and weapon shop.

A lot of it, for me, is simply the same allure that dollhouses had when I was a pre- and teen-ager: the ability to create a fantasy of a place where I would like to live, and to include things that I don't have the resources to include in my real life living place. Company actions give you very nice exp gain buffs, crafting/gathering exp gains, reduced durability loss, chocobo exp gain , and lots more.
The stables allow for very quick chocobo leveling, color change
The garden lets you grow in demand plants, harvest seeds etc.
The workshop - airship, even more valuable materials come back from each ship voyage.
Rested experience gain, your own FC chest, menders, vendors, summoning bell.
Any FC that does not yet own a house is at a vast disadvantage to those that do.

News Flash: The whole point of a GAME is to have FUN.

And, yes, when playing games, I find it fun to have my own virtual pad to customize, similarly to how I like to have the coolest looking armor, and so forth and so on.

This whole game is a frivolity. From the customer's perspective, it serves no purpose in life other than as a source of enjoyment. (Kind of like housing and so forth mainly exists as a source of enjoyment.)

And I freakin' love it.

Ans what's with these fools who want graphics?

We should all just be floating green squares on a black gridded background with numbers along the side so we can be more accurate about positioning.

What benefit does having an Au Ra give you? Everyone should be exactly the same because there's no notable benefit to diversity; we should ALL be Donald Trump avatars. That are of course - green squares.

Why do people insist on having names too? Just put the class of their toon above their head to help avoid confusion. We also need to remove all these armor sets and glamour. And have just one mount - a triangle because that way it can be exactly 1 polygon and really help reduce lag.
