    BRD or MCH for raiding

I will be 60 on both soon.

and I have enough ESO`s for my weapon just curious to all the raid leaders out their which you would rather have for your raids. I realize raid comp makes a large part of thise but if you could have either which would you rather see most of the time? Also i know there is a range penatly to damage in pvp, does this also occur in pve ?? i didnt think so just thought i would check.

Raid comp is everything. No point having a bard in a 3 melee composition as an example.

In a typical dps raid comp of 2 melee 1 range and 1 mage, either is fine.
Both a MCH and BRD have cleared A4S to this date.

So as for what raid leaders prefer? They probally don't care nor should you. Play the one you like, get better at it and you'll have fun raiding.

I have both ready for raiding, depending on what people want that day (though my raid leader has a strange, insatiable hatred for MCH sooooo the point is I could raid with both).

So do whichever you like more, to be honest.

As other's said, it depends on the team comp and how you are positioned for certain savage turns.
MCH can squeeze out more raid wide dps than a bard if the MCH has the right team comp.
They are pretty much equal in terms of DPS, it just depends on what your group focuses on.
If your group puts the focus on a BLM/SMN as the "highest" base dps, then a bard will be better suited for that.
If your group puts the focus on a MNK/DRG/NIN as the "highest" base dps, then a MCH is better suited.

a bard is better imo because of how the fights are in savage as well as how smn and blm being close up to melee at this point. (multiple targets aoe for casters to bring more damage burst as well as foes making them burst here and there like crazy)

Only situation I can imagine BRD being better is in AS2. It is all about party composition.

Actually. Bard is superior on AS1- because they benefit more from multi-dotting, I personally like MCH better for AS2 but i bet that depends a lot on party comp. As3, preference, however BRD is just flat better dps mathematically, same for AS4.

If you are talking about straight competition between the two, then sure, but I take the support side into mind also. I don't look down on either job and both are more than viable for all turns in Savage. It boils down to two things: "Which job do you enjoy more?" and "Which jobs seems most appropriate for my party composition?". I have both jobs at 60 with the mindset that one may be preferred over another, but Esoteric gear has made it somewhat harder to bring one over another. Getting 210 gear over time however will balance that out for me again.

Please bring us this maths. I would like to know how solid are your maths and why BRD is just flat better DPS mathematically.
