Why do people persist in believing that recommitting to a bad system/idea/design over and over again is praiseworthy?

Now, we have gathering that's under even more of a time crunch then before -- with the exact same final output, except even more subject to RNG. Straight math people: the larger the sample size, the closer you get to the average. Cut the time to 1/3, cut the sample size to 1/3. Average serverwide/gamewide will work out, because the sample size is (SE hopes) huge. Your individual average? NOT the same thing. Streaks happen.

Now, those of you who point out that tripling the spawn rate will balance out those bad streaks .... not as much as you think. You'll still have your 0 node pops; just like you can have 8 80% failures in a row.

We'd hoped for fixes, not ramming the original favor system on speed...
