    Folks talking about how SE made favor farming more "accessible". They didn't. You still need to meet the same requirements to "access" special nodes pre-3.07.

    SE did make it less time consuming...maybe. The 300% spawn increase is suspect however.. 300% of what? 1% chance to spawn? That's just 3%.

    I was excited about this patch and used a favor at lunch. One special node in 5 minutes compared to one node in 15 minutes sometimes previously. That is a 300% increase in "time efficiency", but not spawn rate.

    Square Enix decelopers need a lesson in math terminology.

    I'm guessing that in saying "300% increase" they really meant that the spawn rate was 300% of what it used to be. The correct terminoligy for that is "300% of the old rate", not "300% increase"

    300% increase = x + 300%x = 4x

    A "300% increase" equals 400% of the old number. Just like a "100% increase" doubles a number. From what I've read, I think the spawn rate is 3X of the old rate, ehich males sense since the time is 1/3 of the old rate.

    That's a 200% increase or 3 times the old rate, NOT a 300% increase

    So yeah, the system still sucks for me, but I guess it's "less bad" instead of good now? It does cut down on mindless amd tedious activity time, but it does nothing to increase the supply of mats for crafts I want to attempt. I've always hated gathering and loved crafting. If it were practical on cost, I would never gather and only buy mats.

    I've tried 3 favors so far and found 4 concealed nodes each time. So the rate seems to have increased at least 3 times.

    Favor grinding is much more manageable now, but everybody is still capped through the red crafter/gatherer tokens. At least I now have a chance of using all of my weekly red gatherer tokens.

    I did 8 ... I had 1 really good streak; around 8...

    Then I did 3 in a row that netted 1-2 each.

    I thought, for a while, they'd done something subtle like set the first node to automatically spawn something .. not the case, sadly.

    Those are 2 completely different things lol. There is 0% difficulty in gathering favors, hell you don\\'t even need lvl 60 gear. Time, time is the only thing that matters here. You can run savage from Tuesday to Tuesday if you wanted where as crafter\\'s have a limit as to what we can do at endgame lvl. 9 tokens = 9 nq/3hq turn ins= 3/1 opportunitys to craft relevant items. The only restraint on raiding is player availability, which can be solved through party finder. I\\'ve tried buying other\\'s tokens to keep crafting and get told "get bent" or "lmao are you high?". Main difference: you can attempt your preferred endgame whenever you please, we have a limit.

    Favors were not fun, as they were time consuming and riddled with RNG. This was enough to turn gatherers away from using them, which reduced the amount collected and drove up the prices.

    Now, nothing has changed except that only one third of the time is consumed. This SHOULD bring some of the gatherers back since it's a lot less of a time investment. Not all of them, to be certain, but some. The effects won't be noticable in a day, probably not even in a week, but more should become available, which will drive the prices down. Prices aren't going to plunge until it's clear that supply is more closely satisfying demand.

    It's too soon to say whether this change succeeded or failed to solve the problem. I'm guessing it will help, but even if it doesn't, at least the gatherers who bother with favors are having their burden eased.

    It'll help a number of crafters at least. I've done some favor grinding previously, but even I can't handle 11 hours of gathering a week.

    Whether more gatherers will start participating or not will probably depend on whether a healthy market can be established for these items. After all, by trading gatherer tokens for favors, they'ed be slowing their own DoL progression down (meaning that prices might remain relatively high until a lot of gatherers have already gotten their i180 gear).

    3) it's not the developers that need the lesson, but the Japanese -> English translators.
    4) English and Math are also separate languages, so I wouldn't expect a Japanese and English language expert (they would have to be an expert in both to be able to translate, wouldn't they?) to also be a Math expert.
    5) I don't know if you've done it yourself, but translating can be intense work. A little slip up like that is easy to make when you just got done translating a paragraph from one language into another language that doesn't have the same linguistic roots.

    I was happy with the change. I was able to get 80 ooids in less than 2 hours of farming and here I was worried that I was going to run out of things to watch before I finished my favor grind ...
