Its not server limitations because 3rd party apps already do it. Its PS3 limitations. There was no need for them to remove the TP values and the party bonus display for PC users to "reduce system load".
On the flip side, only SOME people causing the extra load is different from 100% player base causing the extra load. Even if it is 100% of just 1 of 3 platforms. As with anything bandwidth related, it may be okay if some use more, you have problems if 100% do.
