What does everyone think about those AST buffs?

OMG, seriously do NOT start complaining that your precious SCH needs a buff. SCH still has amazing tools at it's disposal and does NOT need buffs of any kind. You still have better MP management, the free fairy heals, way more emergency heals and the extra DPS the SCH itself can add.

Better mp management and dps - agreed. I'm not that excited about my nerfed fairy heals. Again, astro has instant adlo that is better than lustrate and the only difference is its on the gcd - but it doesn't require any special resources.

E4E and Virus still very much beat Disable(10% for 6 second on single vs 10% for 20 seconds on multiple). Aspec Benefic is still on global so instant means very little. As for the current low crit, it might be a start of expansion deal. As gear progression SCH will get more crit thus making Aldos more powerful. CU is not a better version of Scared Soil. You can cast SS and continue to mitigate damage, while an AST has to maintain CU.

This is an oversimplification. Disable affects potency which is far more important than stat % like virus. In addition e4e/virus are shared by multiple classes and summoner even has the same advantages in cd/int traits. Disable is unshared with anyone. The global makes very little difference - you're rarely if ever spamming lustrate on someone multiple times in a row. CU has no cost compared to ss requiring aetherflow, adn now has an added regen.

As for gear progression - perhaps, but SE has gone out of their way to give Scholars the least crit of any of the healers on their esoterics gear and also doesn't do anything about right now.

Noct Aspbene is 262,5 potency and not 315, the shield effect is almost on par; with similar gear my adlo stand at 2300-2350 while aspbene is 1850-1900 / 2400 shield. The only difference is that is instant and cost less mana. And the fact that is instant doesn't make it an emergency heal, it's only easier to time it but is still on the gcd.

The fairy heals less than in patch 2.X but embrace is still a potent heal that works like a regen always active, mp free and helps you a lot to cleric stance more. If you use eos instead of selene you can have a easier time healing and dpsing.

And for mitigation, you have deployment which is great for raidbusters like jump in A1S or Cascade in A3S and E4E as an excellent tool.

Ast has very good tools now as healer, but it replace in no way Scholar. I can see ast doing whm job easier than sch one.

I have to say that personally, I've very happy :3 I tried the heals out in a dungeon I usually struggle to keep everyone alive in, and I didn't have too much trouble, so yay

Who are you talking to? Aspect Benefic is single target, Aspected Helio is the one you want to compare.

My post says 263 potency. The shield is better because it has a potency of 341. Astro succor is better 100% of the time. It's instant cast and better than lustrate and doesn't cost a special resource.

It's so awesome now! Borderline OP it feels like, but at the same time they needed a huge buff so its hard to tell. Just did an expert roulette and it was hella fun! They made CU WAYYYYY batter since it gives a regen that lasts even after you stop channeling... So good for Hots and it allows for WAYYY more room to dps. Not to mention I could keep my card buffs on the dps and they were wrecking! The boss's died the fastest I've ever seen in Neverreap with the increased duration paired with CO and Time dilation. Oh yea and mana problems? Non existent now I would say.

I feel like a god right now. With the insane regens we have now, improved mana sustain and cards, I've been seeing 700+ AST DPS for the entirety of my dungeon runs. Synastry and CU are blowing my mind right now.
