If any of the skills were actually any good and not completely cosmetic, it would become an absolute requirement to grind them out because SE would have to take them into account for the raid content.how about this lets say you grind for like a month to get this fabled weapon and weapon skill. Implementing something like this I think would work, lets say you 100% bond to your new weapon, then after 100% you have the choice to convert your weapon, allowing you to permanently keep the weapon skill. Easier said then done of coursegrinding time consuming high tier quest would be a must of course to keep the skill, but possible for peps who really want to keep the skill.
just blew you guys fkin minds I know lol ;p
No thanks. I don't need more grind with my grind.
imagine a pld being in a raid with knights of the round skill dealing 2k damage, lol maybe a pld could finally do some decent dps and catch up to war, and dark knight.
Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.
The only way this will ever happen is if this weapon skill does not give the user any kind of advantage over players who do not have the weapon skill. SE has bent over backwards to prevent class exclusivity in endgame content. Heck, they ripped out the whole elemental wheel by the roots to prevent even the slight advantage that a class with an elemental ability might have even the slightest advantage over one without.
I could maybe see them "glamouring" weaponskills; like, if you have this sword, Circle of Scorn takes the appearance of lightning bolts instead of beams of light, with no change to damage type or potency. That kind of thing could be possible.
why it needs always to be hard to get ? , lets give every1 that pass the Training thing that SE is working on , a way to enhance weapon skills
speaking as bard....i want to see cool WS! , tired of subtle attacks or lame animations
You don't have to have skills- you can just have weapon procs.... other games have those and people don't hang on to junk weapons, because of a neat proc.
- Unless you count the Eq cleric click stick... but that was a bag weapon.
I would be down for this if it was more of a cosmetic change, like making the effects of various skills/spells look different. It would add value and incentive to grinding out these kind of weapons even if they will be obsolete at any point(the effects should carry if you glamour a weapon to look like it of course.). I'd love to see a more intense looking fester or maybe add other elementally themed weapons that will change/add effects for various spells/attacks, like making a blm's thunder spells tinted differently and changing the fire spells to have more of an ice effect/feel making any player with this weapon feel like an ice mage of sorts. T'would be interesting indeed![]()
Ya, this is something that has been asked about numerous times. I did not play FF11, but from what others have said, it seems very much akin to the way EQ1 had weapon procs. Would be very interesting to see.
