Exactly, and this will be the case even more when the level cap is increased.I think most people in support of it recognize that the PL ride pretty much ends at 40 (at least from what I've heard). Yeah you can get good EXP after that in spiritbond parties, but at that point you're starting to pull your weight and I wouldn't call it PL anymore. People can still let you AFK if they want but they could do that pre-patch also so there's nothing new to talk about here in that regard.
Yes but post-patch it only takes a day of non-stop leveling to go from 40-50 or so. The EXP is just that high right now. Also, you say it stops at 40, but that's only 10 levels from cap. You literally have just gotten rid of the entire middle-process and just jumped straight to the final stretch.I think most people in support of it recognize that the PL ride pretty much ends at 40 (at least from what I've heard). The achievement is for climbing ENTIRE mountain, not for taking a chopper to the top and climbing the last 100 feet.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
Those "only 10 levels" are actually half the XP for all of 1-50. Yeah it's faster than it was before, but that has nothing to do with powerleveling per se. I think that part of the argument really comes down to a question of the amount of the link bonuses in particular, which is probably best discussed in a separate thread.Yes but post-patch it only takes a day of non-stop leveling to go from 40-50 or so. Yeah, I'm aware of that, but it still ruins the experience of leveling up and working for it up to that point. Sure, people can do what they want with their game-time, I get that. But the problem is you still have parties 40+ hounding camping spots and getting 50 within a day. Those "only 10 levels" are actually half the XP for all of 1-50. So..if you can get from 1-36 via PL in a few hours, and then 2 days later hit 50...What exactly was the point of leveling at all? They might as well just give you all rank 50 classes at the beginning of the game and say "ok, NOW you get to learn how to play it effectively." I'm not trying to be rude, it's what I feel this game is going to turn into unless Yoshida can find an answer.

LOL have you guys seen the RMT offering Power Leveling service to people now, I walked around the game for a while to do some pre-requesites for ifrit fight and I saw allt he famous RMT in figaro server who all have the name Fig "insert random name" in like ( fig one fig two fig 3 fig etc) Just power level full group of people on auto follow in multiple areas of the game.
this is so sad. My friends have abused the hell out of this and hit almost all class to 30+ ( one of my friends who started playing got all class to 36 in 2-3 days ). Nothing agaisnt them but SE allowed this to happen and still hasn't fixed it. This reminds me of when he game got released and people got super levels from healing 24/7.
P.S- this is a REAL issue and its not B.S netting 700-1200 xp per kill which takes only 2 spells is retarded. Doing leve/behest is a waste of time already whats the point in doing that when the entire server is just doing nothing and getting broken amount of xp. In my opinion leveling was super easy before already compared to a ton of mmorpg, but now this makes WoW leveling look like hello kitty island adventure lol.
my linkshell members literally went 1-20 in 45 minutes with 3-4 classes it is this broken. places like muy thu cellar which have ton of enemy just make it even more easy mode.

Since they're "famous" I assume that means they've been there since before the patch?LOL have you guys seen the RMT offering Power Leveling service to people now, I walked around the game for a while to do some pre-requesites for ifrit fight and I saw allt he famous RMT in figaro server who all have the name Fig "insert random name" in like ( fig one fig two fig 3 fig etc) Just power level full group of people on auto follow in multiple areas of the game.

Come on you guys. RMT has always been here and will always be here. It is not a valid argument point anymore.
Right, I see the light now.
RMTs are already a problem, so it doesn't matter that we make it even easier for them instead of harder. I've been so blind.
Not the point. The point is RMT will be there regardless, so why make things less enjoyable for everyone else? Proactivity is futile when it comes to RMT. The only weapon is reaction. Catch them and ban them. Don't modify game mechanics to try and stop them, because it won't work, and you'll end up pissing off more people than you otherwise would.
Ease doesn't come into the equation with RMT. They will do what needs to be done to make money, no matter what restrictions you put in place. It doesn't slow them down.
Take other games as an example, they block all chat before level 10, RMT level to 10, or become aggressive at account compromise.
Again, no matter what, RMT will prevail, so don't even think about them as a reason when it comes to hating on power levelling.
This is the line of reasoning that brought us such wonderful things as: laggy 100% server-side everything and the gather cap. RMT can't dictate your fundamental game design. An RMT will circumvent your annoying blockades while a regular player will be frustrated and quit. Tighter enforcement is the real answer and it's what we've been asking for since day one. Don't give SE a pass for being lazy about dealing with RMT/botters.
Edit: quoted the wrong post oops
