Yeah, I'm just a control freak. My spirit is just about broken, though.
No, you're right. SE does actually listen to its customers... eventually. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Even if the game is so broken at this point, I wouldn't have a problem with a server rollback. Guess it's a good thing the playerbase is so low, if we had the subs WoW had, it would only be a small percentage of the population all running around with a bunch of 50s they didn't earn.

Again, there are ways to combat this without going back to the old claim system:

* Place greater exp focus on activities like questing or running instances, instead of grind parties. Things that require the player to put in effort to earn.
* Take the time limit off instances so that there is less pressure to skip monsters to complete, and more incentive to do a full clear (kill trash).
* If another player attacks a monster, the same rules should apply whether that player is inside or outside the party. If the level gap is too big, it will greatly reduce the low level player's exp.
* Implement a level-sync feature that will allow a high level player to play with a lower level friend. If FFXI could do it, a game created by your own company, I don't see how a 'next generation MMO' can't figure it out.

Please, Yoshi-P, power leveling is compromising what little integrity this game has left.
