That is just sad. And a perfect example why PLing is not a good thing. It's not really much different than when someone buys an account from someone, only that's against the ToS.

I think the ability to attack monsters outside the party does need to remain for several reasons. Upcoming large scale PvE, it allows you to help someone legitimately in trouble (if you can't throw a cure on them), etc.

The reason this doesn't happen in games like WoW (which also utilizes a system where everyone can attack, but the first party to claim gets the exp) is that the best exp comes from questing and running instances (and all five people in the group need to pull their weight, otherwise the party leader has the group vote to kick). Nobody just stands around and grinds. Thus, PLing doesn't happen. The only time you see crap like that is people going /afk in PvP battlegrounds. In which case, you report them, and they get booted.

It's one reason why the game is so largely instance based. It's easier to control the rules of the environment that way and keep cheating to a minimum.

Frankly, I would favor a solution that doesn't see grind parties yield the best exp. But I don't see that happening until either timers are taken off instances so people can finally feel free to kill all the trash, or the dev team can produce a whole lot of new content.
