You don't get it do you? If everyone find out about the powerlevel do you think for a second anyone would not do it? which then mean the people who don't want too can't find people to level up due to them all getting powerlevel. Oh and don't tell me no everyone would powerlevel please everyone would powerlevel for a price.Eh... last time I looked at this thread it had under 100 post... Not its almost 300. Bleh.
Sure. Its a "system exploit" but the problems caused by it are distinctly personal. You don't have to power level, and if you choose to, you have no right to complain about any problems it causes you (becoming bored, etc).
The issue isn't that people can power level, its that everyone thinks it effects them when really you decide whether or not it even matters to you. If you don't want to power level, don't do it -- The only really issue is that there are going to be people who do it then complain about it like someone forced them to -- its a social issue, not a game mechanics issue.
Its a problem, if you want to call it one, because of what people will do it with, not because it is inherently wrong or bad. I have a lack of opinion, frankly. If people want to power level, I don't care if they do. If someone doesn't want to, then whatever. I just don't want to hear someone who does complain about the game lacking content when they are uses an unintended acceleration of the game's natural pace.
I talk about my view point and opinion of the whole thing in my most recent blog post: http://violentdjango.tumblr.com/post...-stairs-gaming
In FFXI when ppl found out that the bird camp in the past give you good EXP did anyone did anything else? Na they got someone around that level and stay there for days at end. When there a big exploit like this people would stop doing the other and only do this due to the fact it's the easy way to level up.
Seeing how there new players joining all they want is 50 well they should have play like the rest of us and level there class and learn how to play. Sorry but this is a "EXPLOIT!!!" and should be fix Asap.
You people are jokes if you agree too leaving this on the game for that just let everyone be a 50 and i can care less if you go on making jokes about that it's true that what going to happen.

SE, Oh my god. What is this crap? I play for 10 hours a day and earned my level 50s, now you're telling me some casual noobs can hit 50 too? NO THIS IS NOT OK.
I will not let some farmville babies reach my level unless they are willing to spend the time it takes. There shouldn't be any easy route AT ALL.
I agree... you should not be able to power-level. It's gonna come back to bite SE in the ass big-time down the road if they don't address it. This game is *far* too early into its lifetime and has *far* too little content for people to be able to burn through all the levels that quickly.Okay, this seriously needs to be fixed immediately.
Now, before you all say, "Oh come on dude, why you gotta crap on something so awesome," honestly think about it. The consequences will be a domino effect that just might force SE to do a server rollback.
Here's an example: I just got 25,000EXP in less than five minutes. From level 24 to 25 with a friend killing and chaining crabs for me in my party.
The above is far far too extreme. Given these possibilities, and even more if she killed something at a higher level, everyone will exploit the crap out of this and no one will have a job below level 40 within a month. Do we really want this? Do we want to make the journey to cap so utterly pointless?
I'm really concerned for the future of this game if this is what SE intended in this patch! This is bad, really bad. Please, SE, let's get an emergency maintenance and fix this before it is too late!
That said.. I do find it ironic that you post this after being PL'd lol...
Yoshi questioned what would be considered PL'ing in his live Q&A... I'd say 25k in under 5 minutes would certainly qualify lol.
Ok.. so which is it?
Is everyone doing it?
If so, how could there be players who can't find anyone to play with that is not doing it?
Wouldn't those players be doing to too?
And if there are players who are not doing it, then why can't they just play with each other?
You know, just like the players who are doing it are.... playing with each other?
Everyone does not have to play the game the same way you do... that would be the purpose of OPTIONS in a game...
So everyone can choose which option they enjoy the most...
you are a shining example of not all players WILL choose this option - you just said you won't, right?
Not the only one. Include me in that. When leveling is that easy, all the gear from 1-49 is completely and utterly useless. Especially since you can wear gear higher rank. I liked when the journey to 75 was slow and "painful", and investing time and money into gear and quests that rewarded gear I wanted actually made a difference to how well I was able to party.
But, judging by the usual responses I get from saying this kind of thing, I'm sure I'm the only one that feels this way.
I prefer the journey to be more involved, slower and not "race to the end".
But you make a good point... we do seem to be in the minority these days.
To each their own, I say. Though I do have to say I see an interesting pattern time and again in every MMO I've played. On one hand, you have player after player who races to end-game, burns through or by-passes entire swaths of content - all because they're *convinced* "that's how MMOs are supposed to be played" and "end game is "all that matters". Inevitably, many of them find themselves quickly getting bored and quitting the game complaining of "not enough to do"... Blaming everyone and everything but themselves and their own chosen playstyle for their boredom and frustration.
Meanwhile, folks like myself are having a great time taking in as much as we can, enjoying the journey and in absolutely no hurry to get anywhere.
When I look at the two situations, I can't help but feel that those racing through everything are screwing themselves out of a great experience.

Somebody call the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHMBULANCE please!!! GM needs to shut down this idiotic thread already. End of story.
Sorry but the OP is bullsh*t......
The game needs more content, but in the mean time I cant convince friends to play this game for free to get to content like Darkhold or Ifrit. Why? Because there is not enough motivation to level up. This game needs serious help in the form of bodies. If this will help make leveling less of a grind, then I think it could go a long way towards getting people to try the game beyond a week. Besides there are still other forms of progression: materia, jobs, ability quests, guild marks. I think it should stay the way it is now. Is it fair? Nope, but life isnt fair. I do know this though, if I can convince friends to play you better believe that I will be PLing them like mad!!
