From the horses mouth, this is a non-issue. Even-level mobs are a decent challenge(intended pun) now, so odds are a solo R50 killing R40s for a R30 wouldn't be much faster than a party of R30s. The only time it would be optimal would be a full spiritbind party with a low level friend tagging along, which is exactly what the dev's intend... playing with your friends. You can already see that the majority of specialization in this game is coming from Materia, and the EXP rate is in no way shape or form 'overpowered' for spiritbinding. This is XIVs merit system.
Do you even know what this thread is about? The amount of exp people are getting is not speculation, there are direct reports. Powerleveling is insanely fast, and nowhere near the speed of a normal leveling group.

And spiritbinding is in direct relation to how much exp you're earning. The faster you get exp the faster you spiritbind. So that point is null and void.
