Sadly, even if that was the case, PLing only takes a few hours. There really is a lack of content, since this game doesn't even offer a grind that takes any sort of time to accomplish. Many of us are just sititng and waiting.
PL = how crack dealers get you hooked before they start charging.
I can get 15000 exp every 3-5mins by power leveling. Can also make decent cash also. Its roughly 5000-9000exp every 5mins anywhere you go but theres some camps that have 20-30 enemies.
But yeah chain system in this game is broken or least "Call for Help" needs to be added in.
Also max chain would be like 5 or 6.
"Call for Help"= No EXP. You can get rewards just only the pt that claims it.
Im sure they will fix the problem so im not worryed about it.
It would not be hard at all to fix this problem.
Make it where people outside the party cannot attack mobs simple as that and if a high level person hits a mob SP is calculated off that even if they leave the group. There is literally NO reason at all for the current system. The excuse it is for large scale content is void because SE done it with a claim system already in the past. 30ppl dyna, 400+ people besieges. So it is doable... SE themselves have done it before.
SE needs to scrap Pwrlvling and add in XI's level sync system. That way people can help their friends level up without then standing there while a mrd kill everything.....Gather mobs => rank 50 Drops party => Rank 50 kills everything => People still in party gets 200k/hr sp at level 2. <= that is stupid and should of been emergency patched as soon as SE learned about it honestly it is an exploit. Make it where you can Level Sync to temp lower you level a person in the level you can level with them. What pisses me off more is GMs stating it is not against ToS and is working as intended... why did the devs change it from before then.
All in all Pwrlvling I see no issue with, but the current pwrlvling is broken beyond belief. Pwrlvling should not increase SP gain 20fold. Pwrlvling should be limited to outside curing lowbies to help THEM KILL THINGS, not you doing all the work.
If we ever want to see it gone, we have to keep talking about it. Others might scoff at what I'm saying right now, I mean, where do I get off? Geez, I'm such an ignorant bastard for not enjoying seeing people PLing everywhere I go.
Yeah, I'm just a control freak. My spirit is just about broken, though.![]()
No, you're right. SE does actually listen to its customers... eventually. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. If we ever want to see it gone, we have to keep talking about it. Even if the game is so broken at this point, I wouldn't have a problem with a server rollback. Guess it's a good thing the playerbase is so low, if we had the subs WoW had, it would only be a small percentage of the population all running around with a bunch of 50s they didn't earn.
Again, there are ways to combat this without going back to the old claim system:
* Place greater exp focus on activities like questing or running instances, instead of grind parties. Things that require the player to put in effort to earn.
* Take the time limit off instances so that there is less pressure to skip monsters to complete, and more incentive to do a full clear (kill trash).
* If another player attacks a monster, the same rules should apply whether that player is inside or outside the party. If the level gap is too big, it will greatly reduce the low level player's exp.
* Implement a level-sync feature that will allow a high level player to play with a lower level friend. If FFXI could do it, a game created by your own company, I don't see how a 'next generation MMO' can't figure it out.
Please, Yoshi-P, power leveling is compromising what little integrity this game has left.

i'd be pissed if theres a server roll back, i got almost all my levels solo or in a old school grind party. you know who didnt earn there 50's where there clueless in a party like mages who get aggro then run away, tanks who dont have a at least 1 hate grabber on there action bar, theres some people who wont party unless its a power leveling party.Even if the game is so broken at this point, I wouldn't have a problem with a server rollback. by the time version 2.0 comes around there are going to be people playing now are going to be selling accounts and we'll still have noobs with all lv50s and they never touched that game before.
SE is just going to be shooting there self in the foot if they dont make some kind of checks & balences in the game. right now its free for all people will just get bored when they can get everything in the first week or two everytime they release content, i remember in FFXI it took ages to get everything and when you finshed something you actually felt good about it.
I didn't mean to make a blanket statement to imply that everyone who's level 50 didn't earn their levels honestly. If you took it that way, I'm sorry. I'm glad you earned them.
Again, that bothers me, because that's the way things were on my server in my final days of FFXI (that would have been around 2008). I was forced to leave parties or boot others because of it. I just wanted to level with my party, and couldn't.
To those who say it doesn't affect others, it does. When it becomes a standard, it affects others. When it lets people get to level cap in a matter of days without learning to play their class, it affects others. It makes gameplay unenjoyable for those who worked to level their characters legitimately and want to play as intended.

My con was PL'd from 20 to 40 I grinded the rest of the levels in SH, I main healed Ifrit just fine with no deaths and all kills. None of the classes are hard to learn, you can learn everything you need to know about a class from 40-50 which usually you have to grind out. I know some people just do not learn quickly or just leached all the way to 50 but dont put everyone that was PL'ed into the same catagory.
I agree, those who say it doesn't affect others really don't understand how humans, the world, or life works. Either that or they are putting the situation in a box because they like the easy exp. It's a pretty common method to defending things that you like but you know that are wrong.
Just to add another voice to this I really think it should take 1-3 months to get a class to the max level, depending on playtime restrictions.
