Balance is impossible to find because I'm sure if they made it difficult to gain exp again people will back on the forums with new threads with the same thread, same name. Except it will be in reverse, Oh Exp is so hard to get.. KOREAN GRIND!!!!!!
If a friend/family members wanted to perhaps try this game and ask you to power level them would your response to those people be? "No, your a scum of the earth, level like I did tedious endless suffering!".
I agree with the seperate servers which was suggested so that the people that like to suffer should be given the game release exp system.
Oh you killed a level 50 mob! you gained 0 exp.. Sorry you weren't lucky enough to gain exp. This would also mean that you gain Exp through using skills and healing would give no exp so it would be awesome...
Conjurer : No using skills, also I'm not healing anyone since that gives me no exp make this monster live as long as possible so we can get max exp benefits!.... Ah the Good ol' Days...

Joeking, this is a formal request to change your sig. Creeps me the HELL out.
Isn't that from Goosebumps? That short-lived TV run?

you can still PL with the claim system intact, so what the purpose of taking the claim system away? No claim system causes a big mess when you have a multiple PTs in one area killing groups of mobs. Sometimes you end up help the other PTs out by mistake.
so this is what yashida really thinking. he still think PL is good. well, fine he decide to take game to this direction. whateve, i don't aggree his vision any more. bye-bye ffxiv. good luck to those who still enjoy the game. have funPower leveling is viewed very differently from player to player, and I still stand by my stance that it should be allowed to a certain extent to bridge the gap between long-time players and newer players. This is because I see it as an act of volunteering, in which the power leveling players are willing to give up their time to help out their friends or family members.

*sigh* people need to realize that leveling doesn't count as content, if we the community continue to whine about game mechanics and force the developers to go back and adjust them. When will they have time to actually come up with content? Right now the game is fine, leveling should be somewhat easy so you can get into the actual game content. Do we really want to go back to days of FFXI with this game busted party search system? I just can't do it anymore, I don't have the time to grind crabs for 2-3 hours and get 1 level.

Leveling in FFXIV at this moment may not be "content," but that doesn't mean leveling is never content. What they need to do, instead of just letting everyone basically bypass leveling, is make it so you level WHILE DOING content. You know, like the vast majority of RPGs.*sigh* people need to realize that leveling doesn't count as content, if we the community continue to whine about game mechanics and force the developers to go back and adjust them. That would make sense if they did that from the start but they didn't, this game is never going to be quest leveling type of system. I mean I would love for an update to say "we added 1000 quest for you to level up with". Partying is the direction this game seems to be going and I rather have it be easy then really shitty like the 2003-2004 days of FFXI. With the current party search system its going to be borderline impossible but hey lets make them take time fixing exp formula's instead of creating content.Leveling in FFXIV at this moment may not be "content," but that doesn't mean leveling is never content. First, I wouldn't be too sure about anything fundamental with this game right now. It's in a huge state of flux. And we've already seen the addition of quests, plus the leve system is a rudimentary quest system. That would make sense if they did that from the start but they didn't, this game is never going to be quest leveling type of system. I mean I would love for an update to say "we added 1000 quest for you to level up with" but it will never happen. Second, even if it's not a quest leveling system, that doesn't mean it has to be a repetitive grind. There are a ton of different ways to create content besides quests. Raids at more frequent level intervals, different kinds of enemies that require different tactics beyond just "beat in face, repeat," more story missions, PvP(though I would personally prefer not), enemy invasions similar to the one's that already exist, but more prominent, etc etc etc.
Creating a more versatile and interesting game is what they need to do, not take the leveling out of their RPG.
