This whole issue could have been avoided, if we had a player test server. I do hope that they consider setting one up, soon.

same complaints happened when abyssea first came out and people were getting 1-90 in a day. People will get over it eventually.
Greetings,
Sorry it's taken so long for us to discuss, but as I'm sure you're aware we have to wait for concrete information before we post. Foxclon and Yoshida have both posted as a response to the discussions being held here, and other region forums.
Thank you for all of your feedback.
We have confirmed that an aspect related to inhibiting an over abundance of experience point gains is not working as intended as a consequence of removing the claim system. We will address this issue with patch 1.19a. We will provide more details as they become available, so we would appreciate your patience in the meantime.
We are sorry that it has taken us a while to comment, and we’re keenly aware of the very harsh comments posted. We ask for your patience and understanding while we work to address the issue and appreciate your continued support of the forums. This is Yoshida, the producer/director.
I’m sorry that this is late, but I would like to add a few points.
Power leveling is viewed very differently from player to player, and I still stand by my stance that it should be allowed to a certain extent to bridge the gap between long-time players and newer players. This is because I see it as an act of volunteering, in which the power leveling players are willing to give up their time to help out their friends or family members.
We expected the extent of power leveling to become evident with the removal of the claim system, but we didn’t foresee the extent to which low level players can sit AFK, while in the same party with a much higher level character fighting monsters, without the level differences between the players being applied to the incoming EXP.
The calculations for gained EXP have been fundamentally changed in patch 1.19, which has made this issue more difficult to handle. We considered issuing an emergency maintenance to address this, but the release of patch 1.19a is very quickly approaching, so we have decided to fix the issue in patch 1.19a.
I’m sorry for the confusion that this has caused.

Thanks Bayohne, and I deeply apologize if any of my personal comments were a bit too sharp. =[
So this translation makes it pretty clear that they're only fixing the most abusive part of PL'ing, which is the AFK leveling and level 50s claiming for you. I 100% agree with nerfing that part of it. If someone is going to get powerleveled at least have them present and make them claim the mob themselves before they can get good XP from it. It'll still be very fast but I think we'll see a huge decrease from the eyepopping XP/hr numbers people have posted. We expected the extent of power leveling to become evident with the removal of the claim system, but we didn’t foresee the extent to which low level players can sit AFK, while in the same party with a much higher level character fighting monsters, without the level differences between the players being applied to the incoming EXP.

You feel the need to repeat yourself? I'm sorry, no. Both will be addressed. So this translation makes it pretty clear that they're only fixing the most abusive part of PL'ing, which is the AFK leveling and level 50s claiming for you. Yay! Now we can lock all the unnecessary threads~
Actually, I really don't think it will be that fast, even if they just fix that one part. I'm pretty sure it will be slower than a regular party. If the low level player is the one who has to get first claim/aggro, because of the nature of ranged attacks in this game, they're gonna be in significant danger immediately if fighting multiple mobs. It'll be difficult to PL with groups of enemies after they change that.So this translation makes it pretty clear that they're only fixing the most abusive part of PL'ing, which is the AFK leveling and level 50s claiming for you. I didn't think of that at all, thanks. =]Actually, I really don't think it will be that fast, even if they just fix that one part. I'm pretty sure it will be slower than a regular party. But still, there's stoneskin to take the initial brunt if they really wanted to cheat that badly.
If they take away the chain/link bonus when someone helps you outside your party, I would be able to settle with that.

There's a lot more involved if the PL'er and PL'ee have to be in separate parties. In link situations the PL'ee is going to need to perform actions to claim every single one of the mobs before they can be AOE'd down. Since the PL'er has to wait to kill, they'll need to get hate to prevent the group from beating up the PL'ee. All in all I think it'll be a substantial slowdown and increase in work, which is fair. Just how much the XP/hr goes down I don't think we'll see unless someone is bored enough to try it like this before it's fixed to require it.
