Someone get this man a cigar, as that is the entire issue in a nutshell! Ding ding ding! You can refer a friend 1-60 in 5 hours, outlands done in about 4 hours, notherend in about 8 and then herb/mine+quest cata zones in 10 hours to 85 last time I tried. So yeah, wow is like that.
I don't understand why a grind would have to be fun, you get levels from it. Work is rarely ever fun but it pays off.
Also people's levels and what they can do/have barely affects you, unless they are crafting items for you or raiding dungeons with you...either way it's beneficial for you to have it imo.

I have play wow and knew people who took at least 24hours to reach 50 and they been playing all day together. So i don't see how that could be done but i remember right they change it so you could not get that much exp like before. Also at the end it break the game with RMT and what the point of making 25dungeon or even adding low level stuff to do. I leave it at that i'm sure you can find your own reason but you just want powerlevel so bad so you can reach everything max yourself and i can understand that but there other way you can do that. without breaking the game and i'm sure SE would see that too.

I too want THF in this game, that classes mechanics were among the most unique in any MMO I have ever seen, as it's the only Rogue Archetype that hasn't used stupid Combo Points, ala Rift/WoW/Guild Wars/Every other game out there.
SATA was one of the best things in FFXI, and anyone who disagrees is wrong.![]()

THF main in Hades, represent.I too want THF in this game, that classes mechanics were among the most unique in any MMO I have ever seen, as it's the only Rogue Archetype that hasn't used stupid Combo Points, ala Rift/WoW/Guild Wars/Every other game out there.

Heh, hard to say i don't like it, i love it like hell, leveling's such a chore man, but obviously, yeah, going from 24 to 25 in a few minutes is a bit much with a level cap of 50, unless there's some massive exp spike after like lvl 30.

First of all, I want to excuse my writing, as english isn't my native tongue.
Other problems with the poweleveling:
1. Most of the grops that want to PL, requires that you already have a r50, so that you can be a part of a "r50 Rotation", so it really doesn't help the new players at all, as they are still left out. Another solution, would be a "reqruit a friend"-kind of thing that they have in WoW. If you bring a friend to the game, the two of you can get extra EXP when in a PT.
2. New Players that does not powerlevel: They will not be able to get any help by friends doing content, as a lot of people do not know the "do"s and "don't"s of the game. As everyone that PL also will have their jobs to r36 and above, it is impossible to get a group together for doing leves, which again makes it seem more like a grind doing leves. This again will make it harder to get faction credits and be able to do faction NMs. Even for other players that do PL, they will have to grind leves with their high ranks to get the credits for faction leves.
Some people might even want the achievements, or even the gear that drops, so do not say "no one does them anymore".
3. Economics: Not doing leves, will make the player recieve a lot less gil in total, which again results in the player having a harder time buying stuff and gear needed. And the player will therefore be left out of a PT for higher-level content, as s/he doesn't have the appropriate gear/items.
4. Crafting: Gear r1-r40 will be obsoloete, which will make it much harder for DoH to make a profit out of crafting, which makes it even harder for them to reach a higher rank in crafting - if they do not level up a DoL as well at the same time, so that they do not have to buy anything. With the new recipes, it will also then require you to level up several DoH, as you do not have the gil to buy the bits and pieces needed for a recipe.
This is also affected by the Economics.
5. Materia: As you do not get new gear during rank 1-40, you will therefore not be able to create new materia at the pace that a rank 50 do. When you then hit rank 50, you will not have the money to buy gear nor have a craft to be able to craft gear, so you cannot convert your gear to materia, as you don't have replacement gear.
Not having good enough gear and materia melded to it, you will be left out of end-game content again.
So:
The power leveling as it works now, and how the community takes advantage of this, only benefits people that have allready reached rank 50, and have tons of gil and higher level DoH.
New players will be left out, and will have a harder time finding PTs for low- and mid-range content, and will not be able to get a good balance for themselves regarding the game economics.
As it will be "redundant"/booring to do leves, they will not score gear from the leves either.
So it seems like the general direction of the game has become: "I have a rank 50, now I'm gonna bring all my other classes to rank 50 A.S.A.P.", and poor those who does not want to take advantage of this, nor have a rank 50 in the first place - or REALLY good freinds that lets them leech all the way. And if you don't have the gil nor gear, you can't expect to be a part of the end-game content either, so good luck!"
And no: I'm not jealous or having a hard time in-game myself, these are just my thoughts regarding how the game will be broken for new players or thoise who does not have a rank 50 (Which I do).
On a side-note: A bigger implementation of Achievements should also exclude leveling of classes imo, as there is no achievement to being afk through the first 40 ranks.

It's Monday at 8:40AM EST, do you know where your forum reps are?

Yes, I also expect an answer to this. Especially since the same questions are asked in the Japanese forum as well. Half of the people (those who powerlevel all their classes to 35 and above) seem to be happy, and the other half (those who think it smells of rotten cheese) is up in arms. Not a very smart move, Yoshi.
