Its funny that only people with all maxed out levels are bitching about pleveling, what, reached the top but now don't want others doing it because you'll have nothing to hold over others? get over yourself, or better yet, stop being so full of yourself, let others have their fun, and if you don't like it, DON'T DO IT! unfair advantage means someone doing something that not everyone can, Botting is an unfair advantage, hacking is an unfair advantage, pleveling is not since its accessible to everyone, you know what an unfair advantage is? its that we got to use shields as a separate skill but new people after 1.20 isn't, unfair advantage is that people had to level their crafts on hell and nails before but after 1.20 we get craft linking, Pleveling was always there, and will always be there at some extent.
But what pisess me off the most, is that you people are hellbent on turning this into a generic game, flying mounts, capes, higher grinds, cash shop, but one thing that is in common with every other mmo, the existence of pleveling, you want removed, you should all be ashamed of yourself, because i know that i as a player am ashamed of being represented as a part of the community by you people that are incapable of common sense or moral high ground.
Might want to rephrase that, general quality of inteligence on these forums seems to suggest a level of education insufficient to understand such words.

Lolwhut?
On the first point hacking could be considered balanced as well because everyone playing has access to the internet and therefor the means to attain hacks. Silly point but true none the less.
On to the true point of your post, who said anything about removing powerleveling entirely? I beleive the majority of discussion is about how rediculously powerfull it is compared to most MMO's. You turn what was maybe a few weeks of work with even the best parties into a single day because you know a single person with time on their hands.
Everyone's rank 50 now, whoopidy doo~ what do we all win now a gold star or something? No...? We just get to stand around town and whine about how we have nothing to do now that we are all 50? Damnit...if only we didn't all powerlevel to 50 on every job in the game!

get over yourself noob. i worked for my 50's. first, i am not talking about removing power leveling completely. you seem to be under the misconception that i am. all i have stated that power leveling should be in line with party based leveling. Its funny that only people with all maxed out levels are bitching about pleveling, what, reached the top but now don't want others doing it because you'll have nothing to hold over others? get over yourself, or better yet, stop being so full of yourself, let others have their fun, and if you don't like it, DON'T DO IT! unfair advantage means someone doing something that not everyone can, Botting is an unfair advantage, hacking is an unfair advantage, pleveling is not since its accessible to everyone, you know what an unfair advantage is? its that we got to use shields as a separate skill but new people after 1.20 isn't, unfair advantage is that people had to level their crafts on hell and nails before but after 1.20 we get craft linking, Pleveling was always there, and will always be there at some extent.

if you power level you in an 8 person party the sp you get should never be above what an actual 8 person grind party can get. if an 8 person grind party can get 20k an hour then a power level party should get the same. if a grind party can get 200k an hour then it should be the same thing. i have stated it is not right to push noobs, like yourself, up to cap when they have no idea how to play their class nor do you see the limited endgame that the people with all 50's have.
i do not care about being tops or anything of the sort. you seem to think i could care about that, but you are dead wrong. all i care about is that at all 50's there is absolutely nothing to do so the majority of players are leaving til 2.0. that is a year without people in a multi player game. you push others that are complete noobs, like yourself, to 50 and it leads to them leaving once they get there for having no clue of what they are doing and nothing to do at those levels.
power leveling is fine and i don't even mind the kick/invite method, but it should have sp in line with what a grind party can get at that same range. to do otherwise and state you care about the game's future shows just how willing you are to lie to yourself and others.

My only level 50 is an atm pretty useless PGL. Your argument is invalid. Next please.

People at 50 complaining has absolutely nothing to do with wanting power over others or something to brag about, we where complaining about it when SE first announced the removal of Mob claiming, we told them what would happen. And exactly what we said would happen did. Same with the removal of level cap penalty. Same with the drop out of party exploit which they refuse to address.
The game has more then enough content to keep people busy for months on end if look at level 1 through 50. You have 2 dungeons, a ton of nms, a ton of quest, escort things, main storyline, 5 different kinds of leves. At 50 you have world Nms, a dungeon, 3 settlements, and ifrit. And faction bosses if you want to include those.... Without pwrlvling a new player easily has 4-6 months of content to keep them busy if they play say 20-30hrs a week. With pwrlvling they have maby 3-4 weeks tops.
The problem with fast leveling is there is not enough endgame in anyway to support a character with all fighting classes maxed out. Which is the single biggest issue the game has (lack of content).
So you WILL run into these problems with pwrlvling:
1) There will no one to party with because the game will be instantly top heavy
2) 80% of the games content is negated because there is no reason to do it
3) People will refuse a normal party because a pwrlvl party gets SP literally 10fold faster.
4) You will get to endgame, be really happy, then log out 3 weeks later because you done everything.... and constantly complain on the forums about there not being enough content in the game.
More or less this game is not even close to being able to support a top heavy playerbase like XI did. This game also must always have people leveling in it... because despite the game being "Technically" soloable I can safely say 95% of the people will quit this game before 25 if they have to Solo the whole way. This is the worse solo mmo ever developed it is simply not fun at all, it is only fun when you play with others, at that point it is fairly enjoyable.
people already having all 50's means they probably got there prior to adding this system of pl'ing. it took me the most of the first year to get all 50's that your getting in a week or 2. yes i did it in the easiest manner possible..at the time was 8man leve links and as boring as it was and even though it was considered crazy good exp at the time (100-130k for bout 4-5hrs of leves) it was no wear in hells like it is now. people are watching there year of pushing threw no content turn into a year they wasted. and it is becomming clear to them that if they dont' fix the pl'ing they will be pushed out of playing the game completely for idiots who want to get to max in a week since it's not a mmo they want. nor is it the game it was when they payed for it, or played it.People at 50 complaining has absolutely nothing to do with wanting power over others or something to brag about, we where complaining about it when SE first announced the removal of Mob claiming, we told them what would happen. i'll quote myself from a thread above cause i'm cool like that:
allowing the players to power level, easy content, shorter grinds.... they are all forms of a in game cash shop without the actual cash shop being there visually. your handing over your monthly in the same manner for this game, for these items ..rather then just paying piece by piece in a cs. you might not see it that way but it is what it is.

This. This post says it all.
The game is already suffering from a lack of lower level players to party with, and those that still have lower level classes to level pretty much *have* to resort to powerleveling. Can't blame anyone for that, tho.
After shouting in Ul'dah for level 20-30 parties for literally DAYS and getting pretty much no one, I needed a measly 1 hour to level glad from 18 to 30 while playing Lunar on my PSP when a LS mate did a quick PL party with me and a friend. 40-50 archer in a stronghold party also took like.. 2 hours, I guess it was even less......
"Balanced" powerleveling isn't that bad. Getting the last 10 levels of the current cap needing only to pop in a cure here and there while playing PSP, however, is terrible for the game.
And for those who just wanna say "don't do it", please try getting something like a Shopshae party with random people, then tell many how many 20 hours shouting you needed =)
Good luck.
