I had a group in Dragon's Neck the other day that wiped four times on the first time you need to use Imp Punch on Typhon DESPITE someone explaining how it worked in the chat.

I didn't stick around to see how many tries it took them to clear. That isn't even a difficult mechanic; I don't understand how they managed to fail so badly FOUR TIMES.

This seems to be the most difficult fight for people to grasp. I explained to some lalafell blm you have to stand in FRONT of Ultros. 3-4 wipes later he still stood behind him and just running around in imp form doing nothing. The tank was also not pulling Ultros ahead enough so people kept getting wind blasted immediately. Fun times...

TBF I learned 3 stacks tank, 2 tanks DPS/Healer, works well enough. (I think +1 stack each for the Marlboro boss?)

The debuffs do different things. The one in the first boss is a DoT while the one during the last boss makes you take more damage. So the general rule for the last boss is 3 stacks for everyone because it does a cleave that actually hurts quite a bit at 3 stacks on tank. So you can get away with a tank having 1 more stack in the first boss, but if you do that during the last boss it can get iffy depending on the tank's gear and the healer's skill level.

Had a PLD with i110 weapon tanking Gubal while I was leveling my Ninja, didn't go very well, rip hate of him everytime, was half tanking the boss myself because of it.
He was also ignoring mechanic on the last boss, so we had adds up and I was tanking one of the add, fortunately the healer and other dps was good enough to carry him.

I've lucked out with it and gotten parties who handled it just fine (with maybe one or two wipes at most) when running it in DF before, but that one group... I don't know. I don't know why it was so hard for them to understand "stand in front of Ultros to get stacks, then go hit Typhon when he goes to the middle and starts glowing." There's even enough leeway there to get away with one DPS screwing it up, assuming that everyone else got all three possible stacks (since you only need eight stacks).

I remebered one time during the Contuim run (one with Ultima in it) has a THM (he had no black mage soul) so i asked him why don't you have black mage soul equip and HIS reply was "What a black mage soul/How do i get it" seriously ... he like level 50-52 and yet don't have it ?

This is why I believe that doing your class quests should be a forced prerequisite before continuing your story quests.

The blm said he understood everytime we did it, and everytime he turned into an imp he would be trying to cast fire or something from behind ultros... Maybe he doesn't understand what front meant who knows... He clearly spoke and understood english.

both boss, you can get 3 stacks before use fruit if your healer is up to the minimum standard = be able to cast regen on 4 ppl!
