Why are people so bothered about how many people are registered and how many are actually Active?

All that matters for the game to survive is people registering the game and paying their fee.

It's like a gym membership, you got a 6 month membership. You free to get in and out when ever you want. The main thing is that they have already invested.

In an MMO player activity levels are actually incredibly important. In a gym you don't really need anyone else there to do anything and (unless you have an ego) you don't need anyone else there to show off to or share your experiences with. It's been observed in many MMOs, however, that if the game feels under-populated more people leave and there's an exponential impact from that. If lots of people are subscribed but not actively playing, or if you're stuck on an under-populated server, you will see people losing interest in the game as it is the social aspect that keeps most people interested even if they primarily play solo.

OP, as others have said you may be playing on a low-pop server or simply playing outside of that server's prime time. If either of those are the case a server transfer is your only real option. On Phoenix I can get a PUG group for Ravana Ex together in about 30 mins...

Yeah...well no one does Ravana Ex anymore when eso gears are easier to get and better stats. Glad I got my rav ex gears before eso tomes released.

except it would take 28 weeks or so, to get all eso weps, and 1 day for ravana weps.
and some ravana weps, have better stats.

There aren't 5 mil players there are 5 mil accounts. The actual # of active accounts is half that maybe probably even less.
Doesn't in know way mean the game is dying it would be considered successful with a 500k player base but the advertised #'s are abit inflated

The same issue with DPS classes in every game.
Be sure it would'nt change anything if 5 Mio. would play FF 14.

look at World of Warcraft, they had 10 Mio. Player at the current Expansions spike and DDs still had to wait around 45-60 Minutes for a normal heroic Dungeon.

Every one wants the easy way of only dealing DMG. Than you will have to deal with long queues, as well.

In FF every Job has something to do.
I played all the Tank/Heal and Dps and to say Dps is the easiest way is wrong.
Since Heavensward i saw so many bad Dps its horrible how much it cares if you have a good or a bad one.

4 million accounts-- doesn't mean they are all active. Destiny is the same way. Bungie kept bragging about all the people who've played the game, but never actually give current numbers of people who actively play. It's a ploy to make a game seem more successful than it is.
