Strong worry about the two ongoing art contests.

This is no different from American Idol or any showing that displays some form of talent. You're always going to get a preview that showcases some hand picked stuff and not everyone will be a winner. Anyone who gets their hopes up have only themselves to blame. It's not called a "contest" for nothing.

True, but you'd think a contest for coming up with a hairstyle would include creativeness, not just how well you can draw. Take a look at the ones they posted. Now pick which of those isn't a high skill level. I'm sure SE got plenty of submissions that were more creative and unique than these hairstyles, but not drawn like a professional.

Wouldve been nice to at least recieve (even if automated) a response/receipt to acknowledge the email. I too am concerned they didnt recieve my entry (or the follow up email I sent to let them know I changed my characters ingame name)

I wonder why they don't just accept emailed PDFs of the scanned works instead of snail mail.

Glad that this got some replies tho. OP, was your transition art contest shown in broadcast? I dunno about the hairstyle, but i'm pretty sure they showed everyone's entries for the transition art.

Mine was in the slideshow and that's about the -ONLY- confirmation i got from SE that my submission even got thru. which was kinda meh given how its organized by SE themselves, i was expecting more confirmation replies etc.

It was there! I was so relieved. I didn't see the entry before watchig carefully through the broadcast now. I was previously only aware of the hairstyle art entries they had shown.

And since I sent my hairstyle art submissions from the same mail address I sent the HW art submission from, I'm assuming they've indeed received all my contest entries.

It seems I worried for nothing! Sorry for every doubting you, Square Enix.
