Like anyone who delves into the variety of content FFXIV has to offer, I've got a list of websites I frequent when I need info on when stuff is available in Eorzea. Unspoiled nodes, certain triple triad NPCs, most fish post-2.0, etc.

Now I understand the need to have mystery and exploration, and players are free to share their discoveries for these kinds of things to build a sense of community. But is there any reason WHY this information doesn't unlock permanently somehow after the initial discovery?

Is my character too daft to write down in their gathering log what time the item appeared? Or are they content with ???? being the best information they can provide for the item?

I find myself revisiting 2.0 timed content recently, due to the use of such items in 3.0 recipes, and my memory often fails me in remembering what time items pop. Two of the websites that I used to frequent for this type of information have suffered from lack of upkeep, including becoming the target of malware (probably the result of RMT hackers trying to steal account information from players).

Why not add time requirements to the gathering journal when we first discover the unspoiled items? And how about making triple triad NPCs give us a little more information than "come back later" when they challenge us to a game.

You know that players are going to consult with other sources when the game fails to provide the information they need, so how about incorporating it a little more into the world?
