Why people collect jade so much? o_o

Wonder if that GC is international or just Japanese. To be honest in EU servers its very very rare to see player in Twin Adders
And AuRa can be seen everywhere O.o
I wonder how much of the population is counted from people who made a character on trial or alts they never play etc.
Thats a whole hell of a lot of gil, a pity so little is actually held by real players. The stupidly large increase in playing hours can only happen in one of 3 ways, math error, no afk timer and rampant botting, or all of the above and hacked playtime numbers. I mean, seriously, a 118 fold increase over 2014? Where are all the players? We should have 10-20 times more players at least, even with most never logging out....I personally would not be gloating over such a silly play time number.

Its definitely an error in those numbers. In order to play as many hours as that says in the last year, at 5.4m players, we all play more than 48 hours a day on average.Thats a whole hell of a lot of gil, a pity so little is actually held by real players. This is why: http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/To_Die_For
Every miner does this quest. Most miners wind up with a stack or more of Jade before getting the twenty HQ Jade they need.
More than a Feeler is one of two Guildhests required for Main Scenario progression. EVERYONE does it at least once. And there are a lot of bubbles that are killed on each attempt...
Anyone that doesn't play AT LEAST 48 hours per day is filthy casual scum.
I have no intention to become a gear treadmil person. I am perfectly fine getting gear at the rate I am going.

To be fair, these graphs say nothing about activity, only existence in SE's database. There are countless inactive chars from before 3.0 that are still there.
Now if there was a graphic on purely active race breakdown, I'd wager Au Ra makes up 35-40% of all total active races.

13% of PLDData for Data-Lovers
- Introduction of DRK cut into the total percentage of PLD but didnt make much of a dent into WAR
9% of WAR
= 22% into DRK
That's pretty close to being even, really. ^^;;;
