Foxclon checked into this and he found out that the dev. team is looking into possibility of letting you whistle for your chocobo in town, and having it put you outside of the city-state gates (while possibly showing that cool "I GOT MY CHOCOBO, YAY!" cutscene when you first rode them out of town)!

This would be fantastic. Say what you want about Limsa's bridge, but at least you get nice scenery to look at. No, traveling through Ul'dah's little tunnel every time you enter/return to town... urgh. It's short, but it's so damned boring.

Hell, Ul'Dah's tunnel is great compared to the insanely long and boring bridges to get into Grid!

Imagine how much time popping your chocobo from, say, the Sorcerer's guild would save.

This would engender a tremendous amount of goodwill amongst your active playerbase!!!
