I can't think of any Final Fantasy that ever let you ride your chocobo through town. Maybe racing in a golden saucer, but never through the saucer.

And I think the lag/loading issues alone would force your chocobo to a crawl anyway.

I actually thought it'd look nice to see chocobos riding through Gridania..Seems natural to let the birds run around there. But in the other cities it'd look too strange..

Who cares if chocobos couldn't go into cities in other games? There's no rule saying that FFXIV can't be a little different. Who knows, it might actually make the game more FUN.

The fact that people on these forums have been crying for a year that this game isn't Final Fantasy have been saying that FFXIV can't be different. NO WE DON'T WANT CONJURER WE WANT BLACK MAGE/WHITE MAGE. MORE TRADITION, etc. And as I've stated before. It wouldn't be fun. It would be annoying seeing a bunch of mounted people in the middle of an area when I want to repair some gear or sell off some items. There's absolutely no need for chocobos to be in town when everything is about a two minute walk away.
