I don't think there is a reason other than for the developers to address complaints from those who don't have all classes leveled and master recipes unlocked. Most of this stems from players who either have not put in the effort to get that far or have crafter alts, giving them an advantage over a typical omni-crafter. It's a self-interested request, but the devs have to do something otherwise the complaints won't stop coming in. I think some kind of compromise is required regardless of my personal thoughts on the matter.

I do think that if specialists are to be given a lot of extra useful recipes, a fair approach would be to have them work hard for them. When omni-crafters have to spend loads of time and gil to unlock their 8 master recipe books, I really don't see why a specialist should be handed high end recipes on a silver platter. They've already bypassed the typical leveling requirements (8 classes) for crafting, so they have the time to work on other unlocks.
