Speculation is good, but in this thread people are taking their imaginations and just running with it as if SE already gave set-in-stone details
Can you blame them, considering like all of the crafting changes in the past?

The same applies to you tho, except the opposite. You are too wishful. Trying to stay too positive when there's little reason to expect positive results.

One reason against the specialist system:

    - It's sole purpose is to place an incredible limit on the amount of things you can do. (in a period of time)
It's not a system designed to be fun, or nice, or interesting.
Like anything else with crafting there has been little thought put into the system.

    And let's face it:
The only reason we hear about 'specialist recipes' now is to divert attention away from the mess that is ''red scrips and favors''

I'm not very good at navigating search tools. Is there a way to review all of the information about characters played by those who post on the forums? When I click on posters, I can see limited information about each of their characters. With that limited information, I've already been able to detect a pattern among those who support giving specialists exclusive recipes.

In general, those who support this either do not have all the crafting classes leveled - or - already have fully leveled alts on the same server. Clearly they will have an advantage if SE moves ahead with erecting barriers to those who want to continue to access all crafting content on a single character.

Understanding motivation is key to understanding why people support outrageous proposals.

Please, SE, keep true to the principle of "one character- do anything!" that makes this game unique and fun.

That's your interpretation. Besides, they already adjusted red scrip yields and we're supposed to get favor adjustments tomorrow.

They should strip the specialization system as it is from the game entirely, then go back to the drawing board for a complete do-over. The whole stated idea was to lessen the need for people to have all the tippy-top gear and everything leveled for cross abilities, right?

Here's what specialization should have been:
A handful of abilities which would make HQing any synth in your specialized class(es) with rock-bottom req gear and NQ mats not quite trip-over-a-root easy, but very doable.

    What they did:
A mixture of middle-ground and heavily RNGy abilities that don't help when everything's leveled but aren't potent enough to replace cross-classing by a country mile.

    What they're proposing:
"Lol guys I see you aren't whistling while you work as much as we wanted. Here, why don't we add some recipes that you can't gain the last point of progress on unless Heart of the Thingy is active?"

    Nuke it from orbit.

I have made my feelings about crafting 100% apparent. I wont continue until they at least aknowledge our points of view. I won't be continuing until they treat is like players of a game. Instead of play testers. We have to spend money monthly. And pay while we wait for repairs. SE are the only winners. I'm gonna shove my next game time fee down the grid. More entertaining.

Why can't they just make it worth doing?

To make specialists more appealing they should remove the rng but then again it will make crafting lvl60 2stars way too easy. So in that case they should increase the % chance of each action like innovative touch ,from 40% to 60% (so when using SH2 will reach 80%) brygos bow to be like blessing so I can add something else in my action and so on.

And about the 're new recipes. I'm all in for it. I don't understand why people complain about it. Instead I am extremely pleased they not only looking into adjusting the system but adding rare recipes.

Please carry on with the work SE . Me being a master I II III in all classes I'm fully behind this idea.

I'm happy they are tweaking crafting. It's in a very weird place right now.

Forcing crafters to gather if they want to craft anything themselves? I find that kind of odd. Because like you said, doing it is time consuming. Personally I really enjoy crafting but not gathering so much.

I agree with you that changing it in this direction isn't that great of a choice. I am going to just wait it out though and hope this makes it more interesting.

I really hope they drop the special gathering item requirements to purchase the crafting mats. It's kind of like they want to force more people to gather.... It's not a very enticing way to do it, but that's my opinion. It's kind of like putting a medicine tablet in your dogs dinner to make him eat the yucky thing. We aren't doges! Much yuck. Wow.

I kind of like the idea of specialist recipes, it means that single crafters are going to find it hard to dominate the market and that crafters will have to network with each other for certain crafts. It also actually gives some use to the Specialist roles as at the moment they are kind of useless.
