Anyway I agree, Nobuo has lost his touch, I like about 3-4 songs in total.
I agree, I much preferred his style in FFXI along with Naoshi Mizuta. It had more of an adventurous feel to it rather than some tacky 80's synth-pop-mixed-with-folk thing going on and was a lot more melodious/diverse. Love the Limsa Lominsa theme but the rest is disappointing.

While good the FF XI soundtrack is far better.

No flaming Nobou please! Seriously, I like the music. I think more tracks could be added. I think they should have another composer do the rest of the music (Kumi come back!!!) like XI was mixed composers.

The XIV soundtrack is pretty bad. Coerthas, Mor Dhona, and one of the boss themes are good but otherwise I'd give it a 4/10.

I like the music, but also was a little puzzled that it broke with the trend of having many orchestral themes, instead having mostly synth. The battle music is some of my favorite of the series, possibly second only to the boss battle themes of FF6-8, so that's a definite high point. Some of the zone music is also very good, but much of it is, though atmospheric, fairly forgettable.

I realize Nobuo Uematsu's a top tier freelance composer now so they probably won't be able to get him to compose many expansion soundtracks, but I hope in the future instead of deciding music by huge sweeping region, instead there are more universal themes that change based on subzones in order to introduce some variety.

I am enjoying the music for the most part. Much of it feels appropriate to the settings.

The FFXIV OST is actually one of the few things from this game that got overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Sad part is I haven't heard many of the tracks actually used in the game though. They seem to be saving certain tracks for future stuff possibly?

EQ2 had a neat filesystem deal that let you replace any song in the game with your own music, that was pretty neat. And there are a few themes which grate a little when you've heard them too many times.

that being said a lot of music in the game is wonderful, and Nobuo easily did more work on this one game than a lot of edit:video game:edit composers have done in their entire careers.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard on these forums so far, and I've heard quite a few ridiculous things.

Are? Do you mean 'is'? Also, do you mean MMORPG or RPG music?

Anyway, I agree. Nobuo Uematsu has lost his touch. I only like about 3-4 songs of his in total.
    Fixed that for you.
