Please don't misunderstand. I think most of us know that this isn't something you'd publish in a scientific journal.

But it's enough of a trend to raise some questions and, personally, pique my curiosity if anyone wants to do a more in depth experiment.

There are so many variances and unaccounted for details to make any real conclusions from the data aside from that he received more commendations in one circumstance vs the other. Their is no real way to see how or why and there is no way to substantiate any of the work (peer review) the numbers and methodology so it in essence holds almost no weight towards any hard conclusions.

with SCH i would get way more commendations than AST, but people see that roused fairy keeps the tank up, while im fully dpsing single target and AoE as well.

i honestly can't believe that overhealing would give commendations ? overhealing in general is something that i just can't stand, its just such a waste of mp even if you have enough mp, and just a waste of time in general

I do think it's interesting but there would need to be more research before any conclusion can be established on any real level.

I've noticed this, when I worked hard to do nice dps and keep people topped up, usually get 1 comm even had a few people say just heal.

But if I go brain afk and just over heal the shit out of the party comms for days.

I main healer but when I run DPS in Expert Roulette I tend not to give comms to lazy healers. Sure letting the tank drop really low while you DPS and then using Benediction to top them up works, but it's just sloppy. My comms go to healers that go above and beyond - DPS, buffs, keep everyone at comfortable HP levels so they don't have to constantly wonder if you're actually going to heal them. Basic DPS healers who perform the absolute minimum of their role get no comms. Shaving 30 seconds or whatever off a run sure feels great up until we wipe because the healer was sloppy.

To be honest though I don't play healer.

However, I have taken notice of some trends on tank. If I run full vit accessories and do nothing but use enmity skills I tend to get more comms then if I ride the edge of hate and output more DPS. Now before you ask, I'm not in packs in DPS stance, I'm rotating cooldowns on trash pulls, and I'm only entering DPS stances between large damage moves on bosses.

People in 4 man's don't notice DPS outside of their own I think.

While I know you're probably half joking about the cute Lala glamour point, I notice this myself. When a friend of mine and I would duo que healers for LotA, she would always get more commends than me and I attributed that to the fact her HyurF was always wearing outfits that were sexy / attention grabbing versus me playing my mancat healer.

Likewise, there are probably a few "notions" about specific healers - I feel like I get less commends on AST versus me being on WHM or SCH while doing an 8-man trial due to the perception that AST is weaker and is being carried by the other healer when it's clearly me carrying the other healer on AST if you pay attention to what's going on.
