PS3/PS4/PC User Distinction

Hi All,

I have been playing the game for some time and this is my first post here though...

One thing I would really like to see is an indication what system a player is using next to their name especially in dungeons/raids.

As a PS4 player everyone would know that I won't be typing/chatting constantly, if at all, as people would know the limitation of the controller in this area, as if you do type then you get abuse for not doing anything and not being quick enough, lose/lose situation.

I personally take on board any comments and advice I see in the chat window so effectively my actions speak louder than words (as don't have time to reply in the heat of battle) but think it would be nice for people to know with a little indication there...

What do you think ?

Also as a smaller improvement I think there should be an option to hide earrings the same as head gear as they all look stupid

Well tbh, every console user on FFXIV should make the small investment and buy a cheap USB keyboard. Communication is important in an MMO.

Also you can hide earrings with glamor. emporers new *item* makes stuff invisible.

You can already tell if someone is on PC or console. Click/Highlight any person and Examine them. If they play on console, it will show your PSN ID name under your Avatar's picture. If there is no ID there, they are on PC.

That being said, you can get a keyboard that works just fine on PS4 for less than $10. "Being on console" is not a good reason to not communicate in a game that requires it for high tier content.

PC player can't tell which system you play one cause doesn't display PSN ids to PC players only other PS players.

I never see this i mean most high tier runs i see in party finder always end with must have mumble. That said lol why talk? 90% of my time playing this i never say much and if i need to real fast my controller gets it done :P most runs {start} hiiii hello hi there {end} bye have a good day

Hell no. Just no. Some PC players already have that superiority complex and I wouldn't put it past them to kick someone when they see someone plays on the PS3/4.

PC players don't see it. Only PS3/4 users can tell if someone is PC or PS3/4

Good to know. The "superiority complex" reasoning you gave is probably a good reason why PC users can't see this info.

Still, what he wants wouldn't affect PC users anyway. He can't type. I think we would be hard-pressed to find someone who played this game on PC without a keyboard

A lot of PC players play this game with a controller too. But yeah, they type with the PC keyboard. No reason why PS players couldn't do the same. And as others have already pointed out, playing on a PS is not an excuse to not communicate with your party members.
