So currently it is revealed the mysterious ship in the sky is the new 24 member raid and it is some kind of Ghost Ship Thing.

Well they did say it will be a FF14 original with little or no link to old FF games but as of now only SE knows what it may involve.

You know, if there's one thing I really like about this game is that it feels heavily influenced by FFVI. War of the Magi. The Warring Triad. Magitek. Love it and looking forward to this raid.

I'd say it is heavily influenced by all the old FF games(FF1 - FF9).

In all perfect honesty, I wouldn't except anything more than a re-skinned Crystal Tower. It will be the exact same format with trash room > boss > trash room.

You'll set yourself up for disappointment if you are expecting anything else.

But really, laying out "Oh, it'll just be trash-boss-trash-boss" and saying that is stupid is kind of being a little unfair. Every single encounter is going to be like that. Because there's honestly no other way to do a dungeon. What about the aesthetic, the gear, the mechanics? All of those matter.

Because there's honestly no other way to do a dungeon. What about the aesthetic, the gear, the mechanics? All of those matter.

Well, compared to ST and WoD, LotA at least treated the second and third set of trash like mini-boss fights (I liked the Vasago fight). ST had Brayflox HM styled trash (so that was boring) and WoD at least tried... but not enough to be fun.
