Small QoL Improvements

IIRC, the last time the devs were asked this in an interview the answer was something along the lines of "GCs don't really do anything right now so there's no point in adding more ranks until we figure out something else to do with them."

When adjusting the HUD layout, I'd love an option so see all elements so you can properly tell how things will look. For example, I can't know how I feel about the size and position of the enemy list without having the whole thing filled up in combat, or the Duty Gauge without that being displayed in a duty.

add Hotbar gap slider on each buttons

add dyes to glamour dresser, freeing up inventory and/or retainer space

maybe make it so you can click on job icons in your character window to switch to it easily with the assigned gearset instead of having to drag gearset icons onto hotbars thus cluttering up our buttons

toggle sprint in cities or rework sprint in general maybe? it's kinda silly the CD on sprint is so long whereas you can just kinda spam peloton and sprint indefinitely if you really wanted

SERIOUSLY PLEASE do something about crafting material bloat, give us a separate inventory that stores all our materials without item limit? if you're a crafter then your inventory+retainer space gets DREADFUL!

item sorting in FC chests as well as "entrust duplicates" to FC chests, maybe even saddlebags

possibly another way of storing materia bc they ALSO add to item bloat soooo much

remove job restrictions on gear that has been turned into glamour PLEASE, the only exception should be weapons ofc bUT DANG IT some of the SCH artifact gear has awesome potential to be casual glam ;;;; or interesting

and ALSO
it kinda. removes the need for redundant pieces of glam in our dressed. for example literally four copies of the SAME EXACT PIECE OF GEAR with the sAME EXACT COLOR just bc it's locked to certain classes. bITCH PLEASE HELP US OUT I AM SO MAD. in addition to this problem of the SAME appearance of an item being locked to ONE or a FEW classes makes it difficult to set glamours across our vERY LIMITED number of glamour plates in comparison

literally if i want one outfit equipable by all jobs despite it looking SO average and casual like something anyone in the wORLD could wear it would have to take up four different glamour plates just so i can KEEP the look

but seriously there's a lot of gear that has a certain appearance perfect for mixing with other pieces but because of the job restrictions it's super frustrating when it doesn't even look like something "only a ___ should wear" - i.e. shorts, a nice blouse, something with a really cute scarf, whatever. pls help us out pls let us glamour to our full potential gdi i hate the tonberry outfit i want to make cute gLAMS bUT eVeN IN THE glamour dresser things are lOCKED . TO. CLASSES???? it's a glamour it loses its functionality let me wear it let me WEAR IT it is actually impossible to ruin immersion at this point to let a healer wear tank gear or tank wear healer gear if we can look like p*nises

besides, if i unlocked the gear, i should be able to wear it
what's the point of those lovely job-specific gears if i level the job up but dont want to play it so i can't wear it booooooo

other games do it why can't u pls get with the times i'm dying here i can lvl everything on one class but i cannot stAND playing my entire ffxiv life with one appearance nor do i want to be on the same char all the time sometimes i wish to hide but still enjoy myself ok

p.s. i think squadrons could use a facelift
it's kinda confusing or frustrating to do for that gc rank if you're clueless
and also tedious
and running command missions is kinda . idk. maybe that's the point, to command them while also doing your own job, but like, i think it could be done better
a mechanic is happening? instead of ordering them to retreat and have them run to you but kinda haphazardly maybe have a "watch out, squadron!" button that alerts them to a mechanic and THEN they act on the proper AI that does mechanics like the NPCs that can join you on regular duties if you don't wanna run a dungeon with other players, bc they have pretty decent AI but the squadron is tunnel-visioned

you could have like a "focus this target!" and "watch out for (mechanic)!" and maybe even "prepare your bursts!" button for more interactivity during command missions ?

perchance let us talk/interact with things while mounted or at least dismount us automatically if that's not a thing

I'd like to see the ability to set my character's dominant hand. Why can't we be left handed? I'd like to think it is a matter of mirroring animations and player models. Draw a vertical line through the character and inverse the positions.
