The "Recommendations" window shows quests (and other things) in your current region, and for regular sidequests, that's fine. But could it be updated to always show where your next Main Scenario Quest is located regardless of region? Lots of people seem to lose track of where they left off after they've spent a while doing other things. (Help with finding the next quest is a recurring question in Novice chat.)

Perhaps other important ones could be included too, like if someone isn't up to date on their class or job quests, show that as well regardless of where they're at.

Thank you for taking our suggestions!

    New suggestion: More camera keybinds

Give us more camera distance keybinds. Currently there's only the "return to default position" keybind. Would be nice if there were more like Camera position 1, 2, 3 and then we could keybind them. This helps for when we're flying (having to always scroll back is a bit tiring). It also helps a lot in normal fights, sometimes we have to zoom out quickly, being able to hit one button to zoom out would help a lot.

There's also "Save Current Camera Position" and "Return Camera to Saved Position", however, the Return bind always swings back behind my character, regardless of where it was when I used the Save bind. (It maintains the same distance and height, but always swings behind instead of keeping the angle relative to my character at the time of save.

Those binds would be great if they could be fixed to work as expected (i.e., whatever position the camera is relative to my character when I hit Save, Return should send it back to that position). So if I save the camera at a 3/4 angle zoomed way out, so I can see things to the side of and behind me, then I move around, Return should send the camera back at a 3/4 angle zoomed way out, rather than always swinging behind me.

I respectfully submit that the functionality of this pair of binds should be fixed before we start adding more camera angle save slots, lest we end up with more camera angle save slots that all exhibit the current behaviour.

If it hasnt been succested yet

I would like to have a way to lock up the hotbars on the current positions , sometimes in the heat of battle its easy to missclick something and move the hotbar from its current position with the mouse.
Might be nice for the chat box too ^^

There should be a lock/unlock icon to the right of hotbar 1. Admittedly though, a /hblock or /barlock command would be nice so we could hide said icon and still have access to the toggle.

Expanding on the cursor thing I mentioned on the last page, it's happened a lot recently that I've found myself scrambling to find my cursor. I rely on point-and-click on the party frame when healing, and when playing at high resolution, I keep losing the mouse cursor while in combat (it is a tiny white speck floating around--when many abilities produce tons of effects that look similar).

There are some options that I have in mind:
    • Create a variety of cursors to choose from, with many different shapes and patterns.
    • Allow cursor size to be expanded or contracted.
    • Allow us to adjust the color, opacity, outline, shadow, and glow of the cursor.
    • Create an option that will highlight the cursor's location (either through contracting radials or through some other visual--possibly a toggle).
    • Create an option that will allow us to snap the cursor to any of specific UI elements (alternately, create a "cursor return" spot in the UI where we can send the cursor with a hotkey press).

Ultimately, I know it's a difficult challenge, but especially as screen and render resolutions climb to 2K, 4K, and 8K, a set-pixel-size mouse cursor will become increasingly difficult to find, which will be an incumberance to playing the game.

I don't know about the chatboxes, but hotbars can be locked from the options menu (there are a lot of options there).

I'm not saying that we couldn't use some better visibility options for the cursor (we could). But I do have a recommendation based on my own personal habits of working with three or more screens at once.

and Windows can handle this natively.
    1. Press [Windows] key.
    2. Type "mouse" and press [Enter].
    3. In the window that appears, click "Additional mouse options."
    4. On the "Pointer Options" tab, enable "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key".
    5. Click "OK" or "Apply".

From then on, pressing either CTRL key will cause a big circle to appear around the mouse and then collapse inward on it.

It's not perfect, due mostly to it being restricted specifically to the CTRL keys, but it's a decent workaround until such time as we get a more visible cursor in game. Personally, I would like to add the request:

Please give an option to disable mouse pointer hiding. Currently, the mouse pointer disappears when typing or otherwise using keyboard controls. I would prefer to be able to see it at all times.

My experience with using this feature with graphically intensive programs like FFXIV that use DirectX/OpenGL/Vulkan overlays is that it is jerky at best and introduces framerate lag at worst. Even with a powerful machine, the implementation is so drastically imperfect that it will stutter and sometimes just not work. I'd thought to try it in FFXIV, but my experience with overlays tells me it won't work out.

Still, thanks for the tip! I hadn't found where they hid the setting in Windows 8 and Windows 10.

Make a lock/unlock option for the chat box!

Can you make it where you can lock your chat boxes position/size? In other words, be able to disable click and drag for the general tab so you don't move the entire chat box on accident, and to disable the top right chat box arrow so you don't resize it on accident... Thank you! It's really annoying lol, especially the click and drag problem for the general tab.
