... middle of the screen.
Text right in the middle of the screen should be placed in the chat log or added to the HUD/UI settings.
I dont need to see:
"FATE Joined!"
Area movement notifications:
"Hawkers Alley"
"The Drowning Wench"
others:
"Your retainer has sold xxxx item for xxxx gil"
"You have gathered 1 pot of latex"
The most annoying ones...
"You are 6 or more levels above the recommended level of this FATE. To join, please use the level sync function located in the duty list."
"Each time your party is defeated after having battled enemies for a given duration, the Echo will give you enhanced strength"
"One or more party members have yet to complete this duty. A bonus of xxxx will be awarded upon completion.'
"Commencing duty with undersized party. No EXP will be earned from defeating individual enemies."
"Duty registration complete"
as well as in dugeons/battles
"You hear the sound of a switch move in the distance"
"Where Hearts Leap"
"Where Hearts Leap is sealed off"
"Where Hearts Leap is no longer sealed off"
from right in the middle of the screen.
Not only is this information totally redundant (I can easily tell where I am via the map, or I can see giant blue circle on map, or sound and animations while gathering tell me if i missed or hit) but it is quite hurtful to the overall experience of the game.
Also please allow us to move all HUD/UI prompts from out of right in the middle of the screen such as:
Retainer name list
All retainer associated menus
questions from NPCs to ride the airship or take elevators for example
All of this "right in the middle of the screen" is overbearing, especially after noticing it.
I had always wondered why I never really felt like 2.0+ was a world within the video game, but a "menu" of sorts until I noticed how often something was directly in my eye/middle of the screen.
These pop ups appear literally like 1-3 times every 5-10 minutes in a dungeon, and 5-10 times every 5 minutes not in a dungeon... or more.
Its a distraction while playing, and "inappropriate."

It would also be great if Square-Enix would,
Please allow us to turn off zone lines.
(Giant blue balls on the screen, as well as on the map, is redundant, as well as a giant red arrow on the map, as well as a zone change indicator on the map, as well as a different zone name on the map. Redundant.) (I'm aware they are pentagons, but thats not the point.)
Also, please add *auto-hide* chat log.

I would love an option to turn off other "PC" or other "players" entirely.
(Meaning not being able to see their name, their character, nothing, like they arent even there.)
When doing story quests, especially when a new expansion, or even some patch content is released, hoards of players crowd the NPC, this isnt an "issue" as much of a "eye sore."
So being able to toggle seeing other players/PC's on or off would be a very nice touch.
It would be grand if we could disable the extra warning prompt that reminds the player that they are about to purchase a piece of equipment that they cannot equip. If I am going to buy a couple dozen of the same piece, for the purposes of desynthesizing all of it, I really could do without being "warned" every time I try to purchase the same piece of equipment. After fleecing the market board of hundreds of pieces of desynth fodder, the "warning" has grown quite annoying.
It would also be grand if we could filter the market listings to display only items that could be desynthed by specified crafts.

I honestly am shocked this still isn't in the game, so I'll put an official request here.
Please, for the love of God, yourself, or anything else I could mention, make an 'Entrust to Free Company Chest' option when depositing there. To click and drag every single item is painfully time consuming, and I might get carpal tunnel one of these days!
Or at least some other way to make it faster!
Allow the Chat Window to remember the current Chat Channel setting on logout.
For example, my default Chat Channel is always set to 'Party'. I must change this setting again every time I log in, because on every log-in, the default Chat Channel is reset back to 'Say'.
Three more things:
1. For repeatable quests or normal quests that require you to use a mount with a special function, have the quest give a whistle to call the mount, rather than always having to return to the same questgiver for it. Especially for a faction like the Vanu Vanu, where the objectives are spread over a massive zone, being able to dismount and remount the quest mount would allow for more efficiency in tackling objectives.
2. For repeatable quests or normal quests that require you to use a mount with a special function, have the mount behave like regular mounts, where beginning to call another mount or interacting with a quest objective will dismount us (really jarring to have to use the dismount button).
3. For quests like "Fifty Shades of Yellow," the requirement that players be dismounted before doing the specified player action is asinine. It makes sense for something like "/sundropdance", but there is no reason a character would not be able to "/say Uhm Ala" from the back of a chicobo (or other mount).

The source of complaint (2) is also the reason for complaint (1). They want you to be sure you're getting off the mount, because you have to go back to the NPC in order to get back on. If you were to address (1), you could address (2).
But
I don't support suggestion (1). People could start a quest and then never finish it, so that they could have the special mount with special actions, at least in that specific zone, without having to put in the work. In the current system, you can only stay on the mount as long as you don't do anything but fly around. If you leave the zone or do anything unrelated to the quest, you lose the mount. It should stay this way.
And since it should stay that way, we should keep the dismount protection as well.

Your objection seems to be based on preserving the "specialness" of the mount, especially as it shares a model and animations with the mounts that you get for grinding out your reputation with the beast tribe in question. Your fear, as I understand it, is that allowing for remounting on a quest mount would allow people to take out that quest and keep it indefinitely, and get a version of that mount that they can use any time they are in that zone, with a special action to boot. Because this makes the faction mount less valuable, you argue that it is not a problem that should be addressed.
What if the ability to remount onto a quest mount had some/any of the following restrictions (let's say the questgiver gives you some kind of whistle):
- Give the whistle a timer of 30 minutes before it is removed from your special inventory.
- Give the whistle a number of charges before you have to go back for another (3-5).
- Make the whistle disappear from the player's inventory if they zone out.
Any of these, I feel, would keep the quest mounts as a limited-access item, and would make buying the permanent mount once you reach the proper reputation be worth something. And because of this, it would enable them to function and behave like other mounts. Do you think this would work?
