Suggestion - different presentation of physical and magical damage

    Hey, I left here:

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...hysical-damage

a suggestion to make damage types (physical/magical) easy to recognize. This could be easily implemented by having the different types be of different colors in the enemies' cast bar. Further details in the link.

I was cleaning out the messages in my box (bah) just now.

Which brings me to my idea. Please devs, could you put in a option/button with moogle mail to allow a person to delete all open mail/already read mail at once? I think a lot of people that do not stay on top of it would appreciate that. ^^

'Display All' for Hunt Mark Bills

I have finally figured out that one of the things which has stopped me from doing the daily hunt marks is simply the interface for looking at the list of marks. The "stack of mark bills" in my Key Items is nice for immersion, but on a practical level I find it difficult to remember which marks I've completed, which I have left to do, and where I need to go for them -- especially since they are infinitely rotating. I would LOVE the option to "view all" - either summarized in a window like the hunting log, or just spread out over the screen somehow so I can see all the bills at once. Bonus if it can include the weekly B-rank in the list, too.

Simple Mode UI for more things
Only the job gauges have a simple mode, but I would love it if more things had the option to make the UI more uniform and clean. The first thing which comes to mind is having our personal Progress Bar match the look of when you're targeting someone and they cast something. I don't need the icon, I just want clean, simple bar, cast time, and maybe the name.

    Event Icons
I feel like the icon above a quest giver's head should be noticeably different when it's for a limited time event, like the Make It Rain campaign going on right now. It's indistinguishable from every other quest, so it may be ignored by passerbyers. Maybe have it glow and have a small clock on it, in place of something like the + they sometimes have.

    World select changes
It's a very minor thing, but I have to deal with it so often and find it annoying. Whenever I log into a different data center, it always takes me to the same character and it's not the one I play ever. I would love it if we have multiple characters on a DC in different worlds we could have a preferred one to start on. I only have characters on Cactuar and Siren for Aether, for example, so why aren't those two always at the top of the list, which seems to be ordered randomly every time, and starting at the one I played last?

As of now all keybinds are shared across jobs, I'd really love to be able to save individual keybinds to each job.
But why? What system level keybinds would you change only for certain jobs?

Why not? Many MMOs have some manner of "direct binding", where you can choose to bind an action rather than a matrix space (X button of Y hotbar). It's useful for keeping the most common binds in comfortable locations while having what you most need to track (but not necessarily hit often) in the most visible locations.

I'd go one further, though -- Retained Mod States option: held keys remain in the mod state they were first pressed in. Sounds obscure but it's literally the difference between having easy access to Shift/Alt/Ctrl QWEASD, all prime real estate, where you would otherwise have your movement cancelled mid-hold by hitting any of those mod keys. MMOs that allow for that can generally have many more skills than XIV without seeming to suffer from an overwhelming number of buttons, just because they still aren't spread any further or any more uncomfortably.

...That's literally the opposite of direct binding. That's "matrix-" or "space-" binding, as just described. And as every hotbar's binds, shared or job-specific, are mutually exclusive with one another, it would be incredibly limiting, where direct binding is not.

Direct Binding = mouse over the skill in Actions & Traits menu, right click or config command -> Bind, hit bind key. Now place it wherever you like and the hotkey is still shown as what you've bound it to. Where a conflict exists, you are thus informed and can either separate them by conditionals, e.g. "In combat", "Mounted", etc. or by rebounding the previous holder of that keybind. You can now move your bars about however you like for visual convenience without messing with muscle memory or even skip placing skills that you have no need to track on your hotbars without losing access to them. It's a simple enough system and while it might not significantly benefit that many people, it's nice enough to have.

I like this and if they maybe color coded it. For example the names of the adds would change color depending on how much aggro you have on them. So red would me most aggro and youllow half way but might loose the aggro and green/blue you have no aggro on the add.

Would be nice if it was all on the add itself and not off screen.

    Search function in Character Configuration

So many times, especially as a new player years ago, it took forever to find one specific setting I thought was in one section but was in another. It would absolutely amazing if we could have a search box at the top to find key words of a setting we're looking for.
