With the launch of ARR, I was thrilled. I loved the revamp, I brought friends over to the game, but I was experiencing three issues that I was told would resolve themselves quickly. At first I waited, patiently. Then I filed an in-game report and was told to wait longer. Upon seeing a support post that said that these issues are now resolved, I made another ticket that was brushed off once my issue became clear. And then I quit. My enjoyment of the game was entirely tarnished by this poor experience. And what are these issues?
1. Collector's Edition items. I bought CEs for my brother and myself when FFXIV first launched. With 2.0, he got all of his new shinies, and I got nothing. No one could tell me why, until today: I contacted support chat outside of the game, gave him the code I used to register back then, and he told me it was never used. Yet I was somehow playing the game in 1.0, and continued to in 2.0. He told me it was a standard edition, but I never came anywhere near one. So... ghost code on my account somehow.
2. The legacy tattoo. I actually had this at release! But it disappeared within a week and never reappeared. This is perhaps the most annoying issue of the three - the history I had with the game pre-ARR was being erased.
3. The 1.0 gobbue mount. I worked my butt off to get this guy once I learned that 1.0 would be ending, but he'd be coming with it. I played very casually, but I hit the slog to level hard. I did it. I got him. And he never showed up with 2.0.
This is my third time trying to get back into the game after ARR launched, but time and time again, I just get too annoyed to keep playing. I really want to enjoy this game, but this botched transfer and subsequent shoddy customer service experience (twice my tickets were literally just closed without reason) just ruins my mood.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Did it ever get resolved?
